"So where are we going?" I ask getting into Colby's car. Luke said I could have the rest of the day off since it wasn't busy today.

He looked at me smirking while he pulled out of the parking lot. "Well, I think you should get out of your comfort zone so you know what I booked for us?" He asked while driving. I was scared to ask. "What?" I ask nervous of what he could say.

"Skydiving." I looked at him with wide eyes to see if he was joking. "That's really funny, Colby." I say laughing as he sits there. "We're going skydiving. I'm not joking either." I sigh knowing he was being serious.

We drive to the skydiving place and fill out paperwork. " I can't believe I'm doing this." I say making Colby laugh. "It's fun, don't worry." He said making me look at him.

"You've done this?" I ask as he nods his head, continuing to write down some stuff. "I did it a couple years ago in Dubai." I should've started YouTube if I knew it could make me money.

Once we fill it out, we get harnessed up so I'm scared. "I keep thinking of the episode of drake and josh where they went skydiving." I laugh as the guy finished putting the harness on me.

We start to walk out and its all kicking in now. "Holy shit I'm about to skydive." I say as we get on the plane. "You gotta live on the edge a little Vee." Colby smiled as he sat across from me.

The higher we get, the scarier it gets because I can see a great view of Los Angeles. "I can see our apartment from here." Colby joked trying to lighten the mood.

"Are you two ready to jump?" The guys asked as I got nervous. The guy I'm partnered up with, hooked onto me. As we were about to jump, I looked over at Colby.

"I fucking hate you." I say as we jumped into the air. This was absolutely insane. I can't believe I'm actually doing this. I looked over at Colby as he smiles awkwardly at me as we fly in the air.

I could feel the adrenaline pumping in my body. We started doing tricks in the air which made me laugh. It was honestly a lot more fun then I thought it would be.

When we reached the ground, I couldn't help but lay down when we were unattached. "Vee, you did it!" I heard Colby cheer as I couldn't help but smile. I jump up and leap into his arms.

He quickly held onto me so I wouldn't fall. "I can't believe I actually did it." I say jumping off of Colby. I run my fingers through my hair as I laugh. "Did you like it?" Colby asked as I nodded my head yes.

He looked at me smiling as they took the harness off of us. "Come on, dork. Let's go get food." He said as I followed him to his car.

We went to tender greens and ordered our food. "How old were you when you did it the first time?" I ask making conversation. "I was the same age as you. But damn, that makes me sound old." He laughed as I laughed along with him.

"Well, you definitely pushed me out of my comfort zone." I smile while looking down. I looked back up at him as he drinks on his water.

"I don't understand why you don't let anybody in. When I first met you, you were this shy person and I could tell that you were scared. Why is that?" He asked getting serious.

"After Brandon died, I pushed everyone away. I don't trust anybody because I'm afraid to get that hurt again." I simply explain as he listens. "Why would you push people away though?" He asked trying to understand.

"Because the more people you let into your life the more that they can walk out of it. I learned that with Brandon and I didn't wanna feel like that again. Part of the reason why for the longest time I only trusted Luke." I explain as he understood it more.

"Are you gonna go back to Hawaii one day?" He asked as I sighed. "My brother has his graduation next month so I'll be flying down there for that." It's just crazy that I haven't been there in two years and I'll be going back in a month.

"If you need anyone to talk to while you're there, just call me." He said as I thought of an idea. "Why don't you go with me? I'm not gonna be able to go alone and you're one of the only people I trust." I suggest as he sat there trying to think.

"Are you sure, Vee?" He asked thinking about it. "I can talk to my parents about it tonight." I suggest as he agrees. "I just don't want you to go through this alone." He said making me smile.

"I won't be when I have you as a friend." They bring our food over to us as we start eating. We talk about our childhoods and random stuff we did. "I like hearing stories about you and Brandon, you should tell me more." He said as I thought of one.

"Around eighth grade, he broke his foot and was on crutches. Well one day, we were bored so we decided to go by the main road and he would start walking down it. Whenever a car would drive by, I would run and drop kick him onto the ground." I tell him as we bust out laughing.

"No way, really?" He asked as I nodded my head while laughing. "We were awful. What about you and Sam. I wanna hear a story about you and Sam." I say sticking food in my mouth.

"Sam and I were literally awful at meeting girls. So we would literally watch videos about how to talk to girls and then go to the mall to test it out." That was actually really cute. I didn't know that he was super shy.

Colby and I actually had a great time hanging out today. We laughed, we joked, and we never lost our conversation. Colby was a great person.

And I'm happy that he was my neighbor.
