"do i have to go?" i whined as my messy hair followed my head throwing back in disgust.

"please honey? your mom is on a business trip and i need someone to go with." dad begged as he was leaning again my doorframe.

my dad got invited to this dinner with all these actors, actresses, directors, and producers. i don't know what for but he's been asking me to come all day and i just keep refusing.

"if you don't go your grounded" he snarked at me.

my heart dropped and i looked up at him. he knows pulling that card made me sick, and he just had a devilish smile on his face. "fine." i groan and stand up, pushing him out of my room to get ready.

"wonderful sweetie," he said all sweetly. "be ready my six-thirty and the limo will come pick us up"

"okay." i said shorty and with a bit of attitude. he deserved it.

i opened up my closet and looked for a somewhat decent dress. i found a tight black strapless dress that should do, and a pair of short black heels. i slipped on the dress, curled my hair in small beach waves, and did my makeup.

"ready hon?" my dad called from the kitchen.

"yes coming" i walked down the stairs as he was already halfway out the door.

~time skip til the dinner~

we found our reserved seats and sat by all these famous people. i was paranoid that something on me was off but i'm pretty sure i'm fine.

there was a lot of food, a orchestra and a ballroom floor that many people were dancing on.

i really didn't eat anything but i had a small glass of champagne, even though i was underaged.

my eyes scanned around the room from boredom. i rested my hand against my palm until my heart almost pounded out of my chest.

my brain found the most gorgeous human imaginable. icy blue eyes that melted my heart with fluffed brown hair. he had the cutest smile too.

"dad..." i mumbled will patting his shoulder, now taking my eyes off the boy.

"what?" he asked impatiently. "i'm in the middle of a conversation..."

"who's that boy over there" i asked while falling more for this boy every second i look at him.

"kirk. kirk cameron." he replied shortly and went back to his conversation. i was just so in awe from this kid....

before i knew it we connected eyes. shit...

he smiled softly and gave me a wink as i felt my cheeks burn up and i looked down at the white tablecloth and started playing with the ring on my pinkie. what an idiot i am.

i stood up from the table and started to head towards the bathroom to try and calm myself down. i slid in between many people to finally get there.

i walked into the restroom, grabbed a paper towel, and dampened it with some cold water and held it between my hands since my palms were sweaty like crazy.

just chill out (y/n). it's fine. you're ok. deep breaths. now you're going to go out there and sit by you're dad for four more hours.

i sucked in a breath before i threw away the towel and pushed open the door.

"hey..." a soft voice came from behind me as a gentle hand cuffed my wrist.

i quickly spun around to see the boy i've been admiring. "hey" i croaked out, his hand still softly on my wrist. is this happening?

"i couldn't help but say how beautiful you are" he smirked at me as my cheeks went pink again.

"wow, uh-" my eyes grew wide and my lips pinched together, say something stupid! "you're beautiful too" i smiled, wait wait wait wrong word! "no, no, you're uh-" i stumbled again. "handsome, very handsome" i pulled my hand away from his gentle grip on my wrist, feeling embarrassed.

he chuckled at me which made me more nervous. "do you want to go dance?" he asked with a little sparkle in his eyes.

i opened my mouth to say something but nothing came out. "yeah" i pushed out, my voice cracking a little.

he grabbed my hand which i'm lucky my palms weren't as sweaty. don't screw this up (y/n).

we walked through the large crowd of people, kirk getting greeted from almost everyone he walked by.

we finally got to the dance floor and i didn't know how to dance. just follow his steps...

he put his hand on my waist and still kept our hands connected from before. in movies i saw the girl usually rest her hand on the guys shoulder so that's what i did.

we got lost in each other's eyes and that made me feel so relaxed. why was i so worked up before? "hey i'm sorry for being so awkward before" i said more calmly now. "i'm (y/n) by the way."

"no you're ok" he chuckled at me. "i'm kirk, and i've never gotten the compliment i was beautiful before so thank you" he teased me and gave me a devilish smirk.

"shut it" i cocked my brow at him as we swayed from side to side listening to the orchestra play it's calming melodies.

he just continued to smile at me while our eyes were still connected. he was just so gorgeous i couldn't help but have a little smile on my face.

his eyes started to close a little and his head tilted to the right, leaning in slowly.

don't. screw. this. up.

my eyes also started to close a little and i leaned in a little. i felt his breath hitch against my lips until they finally met.

i moved my hand from his shoulder to cup the side of his cheek as i felt his hand around my waist pull me closer to him.

"cameron!" a familiar voice yelled from a distance. "get away from my daughter!"

we quickly pulled away from each other as i made some eye contact with my dad and gave him a glare. "dad..." i sighed as kirk laughed a little. "sorry" i looked up at him and shook my head a little.

"hey don't worry." he wrapped an arm around my shoulder. "do you want to get out of here and go get a milkshake?" he asked with a little smirk.

"yes please" i grinned at him as he lead the way out of the building.
