The world today seems to be centered on fame more than ever. Many people are prying on the life of celebrities to the point of imitating the star's standards, good or bad. People are battling to become viral in the social media to be on par with the social media sensations. Also, many are joining tv talent search to become the next superstars.

With this reality at hand, what does this centering on fame imply? Ironically, it implies that people tend to aspire to be different though each of us are born unique. A concrete example would be, no other fingerprints will ever match with our own fingerprint except ourselves.

In today's gospel (Matthew 10:16-23), we are reminded to make a difference and not so much becoming different. Jesus invites us to make a difference in this world by living out our being children of God amidst terrors, crises, sadness, and evils. Further, in our journey to live as children of God, He ensures us that whatever we lack, He will provide. Amen
