New Kid

Third Person

They were told that the new student would arrive today Patton was waiting eagerly while the other two did their own thing. "Are we sure about having a new person, like us three know each other so well" Roman added making Logan roll his eyes "Come on it'll be fine"

Pattons POV

I can't wait to meet the new kid, he should be here any second

Knock

I jump up and answer the door it's Mr Picani our headteacher.

"Hey Patton are the others here, I want to talk about Virgil"

Virgil must be the new kid

"So his name is Virgil Xie, he's slightly younger than you and he's a bit anxious and won't talk like at all"
Roman: "What do you mean he won't talk?"
Logan: "Is he mute"
"Yes he's mute we suspect it's something to do with his anxiety"

I wonder what happened. Mr Picani leaves and comes back a few minutes later with a very shy Virgil

Romans POV

That must be Virgil. Mr Picani leaves after telling us to be nice

Me: "Hi I'm Roman, that's Logan and this is Patton"

He just waves, not even a smile

Patton: "Umm I'll show you to your room"

Virgil just follows Pat down the hall to the bedrooms

Virgil's POV

Patton seems nice, Logan didn't speak but he seems smart and Roman seems way to bubbly for me. Mr Picani said he told them about me being mute which saves me the trouble of being shouted at for not speaking

Patton: "I'll leave you to sort out your stuff, I'm making cookies if you want one"

I nod and he leaves shutting the door behind him. The room is fairly big, it has a double bed by the door, a desk under the window, a closet and three draws next to the bed side table and a shelf, I puts my pants and socks in two of the draws and in the last I put my art supplies and makeup, I put my clothes in the cupboard, a few reading books on the shelf and but my textbooks and sketch pads on the desk, I brought an MCR poster with me so I pinned it above

Knock

I opened my door to see Roman

Roman: "Uh hi, Mr Picani dropped off your planner, here"

I nod to thank him and he smiled

2 months later(Monday)
Patton's POV

Me: "Have any of you seen Virgil"
Logan: "Why"
Me: "He always disappears during break and lunch"
Roman: "I think stormy night is fine"

Virgil's POV

Dolion and Remus were back

Dolion: "When you going to speak freak"

Remus kicked me in my stomach as Dolion tipped everything out of my bag

Remus: "Still nothing, freak"

They left after kicking my bag and textbooks into a puddle, I just sat there for a few minutes when a black and white cat came over too me, I put out my hand and he rubbed his head on my hand so I started smoothing him, I started to smile just sat in the rain smoothing the cat

Roman's POV

I had gym next so I went to the storage behind the school to get the football, I saw a kid in a back hoodie, his clothes are soaking the closer I got I realised it was Virgil, he was smoothing a cat and he was smiling, wait this is the first time I've ever seen him smile, I've lived with him for two months and he's never smiled. He looked at me and jumped and started grabbing his bags and his things, there was a muddy foot print on his bag and it definitely not his

Roman: "Are you okay?"

I only got a nod in response before he took off

Virgil's POV

I ran away from Roman to my lesson which was...GYM. I hate gym and I have it with Roman

"Virgil, are you doing it today?"

I nodded my head at my gym teacher, I'm self conscious, I think my gym teacher gathered that so she doesn't ask me to have a kit

Roman: "Hey Virgy"

I just looked at him, I wish he wouldn't call me that but I'm afraid to speak

"We'll be working in partners"

Shit, I hate working in partners

Roman: "Virgil you can work with me"

I just nodded, I've figured that's how I communicate I can't reason I can just nod

Roman: "Come on let's go, I got us a ball"

I chased after him, he just giggled and kicked the ball to me, little does he know I actually love football. We took a break because Roman needed a drink

Roman: "I didn't see you as a football guy"

I just shrug, he stares probably trying to think how to continue a conversation from a shrug

Roman's POV

What should I say, what do I say after a shrug.

Me: "You're really good"

He just looked at me, he's cute, wait Roman stop he's just your room mate you can't think this
