He followed the other passengers

to the baggage carousels 

His heart was pounding

It had been just over a year

since they met online

A year of

messages

emails

telephone calls

texts

Skype

A year of

talking

decisions

commitments

plans

follow throughs

And today...

the final step

They would finally meet

He looked for her

He saw her near the

revolving doors

He had to smile

She had an exit plan

She saw him

smiled back

and 

walked toward him

They stood in front of the other

"Hi"

They said together

He stepped toward her

hugged her

tentatively at first

but

then he felt her arms

tighten around him

He leaned back slightly

and

kissed her lips

gently at first

but

then with more

passion

Their lips parted

They opened their eyes

"Hi"

They said together

again

amid the smiles and tears

"So, what do you think?"

He asked

She touched his cheek

kissed him gently

then

took his hand

"Get your luggage, my love"

She said

"Let's go home"
