Drude is also part of German lore and the origin of these creatures is still unknown to this day. It's said to be like a 'malevolent nocturnal spirit.' Or like an elf, hag or a kobold that used to haunt people in their nightmares. Additionally, Drudes were considered demons who participated in the Wild Hunt.
