SEOKJIN

It shouldn't be that hard to talk to her. Just be yourself, idiot.

I take a deep breath and jog up to her, tapping her shoulder.

She turns around, the scent of her lavender perfume blessing my nostrils. "Yes?"

I take another deep breath. "I saw you at the diner earlier and I w-was wondering if I-"

Just as my confidence was growing, it was cut short as the bell rang, the both of us looking up at the ceiling.

"I'm sorry, but I have to go," she apologizes while smiling. "I'll see you around, hm?"

I nod, bowing as she runs down the hall to what I would guess is her class.

I sigh. "Dammit, Jin, you had one job."

Facing defeat, I walk into my classroom, trudging to my desk where Jungkook was bouncing around in his seat, listening to music.

"Hey, hyung, how did it go with your crush?" He asks, louder than intended.

"Terrible. I'm losing my mojo."

Jungkook snorts. "As if you already had mojo. Sorry to break it to you, hyung, but you're lame."

I yank his earbuds out of his ears, throwing them down and squishing them beneath my feet.

He whines, staring at them with glossy eyes. "I just bought those. I guess you don't want me to help you get her number."

I gasp, taking my wallet out of my pocket and throwing multiple twenty-dollar bills at him. "I would pay any amount for you to help me!"

The younger chuckles, shoving the money into his pockets. "I have my last class with her. Do you want me to ask her for her number?"

I grab ahold of his shoulders, shaking him back and forth. "I really want you to. I'll buy you all the banana milk in Korea!"

Jungkook smiles. "Okay, okay! I'll do it. Only because you're buying me banana milk!"

I smile back, my heart pounding like a drum.

"Meet me in the parking lot immediately after school," Jungkook says, I nod, so excited yet scared that I might throw up.

-

I pace around the parking lot nervously as I wait for Jungkook.

"She probably said no," I whine to myself while staring at the pavement.

Students burst out of the doors, running around, glad to be out of school for the day.

I sit on the hood of my car, my legs getting tired from waiting all this time.

"Hyung!" A voice familiar to me yells from the distance.

I scan the sea of students until I see an eager Jungkook jumping up and down to get my attention.

Man, am I happy to see him.

"How did it go? Did she give it to you?" I ask, not wanting to hear anything but a yes.

He nods, handing you a paper with her name and phone number written on it.

I pull him into a hug, his words are muffled against my clothes.

"You are my favorite person in this entire universe!" I cheer, pulling away from him to carefully place the paper in my pocket.

"So, when am I getting my banana milk?" He asks, looking around awkwardly.

I take my phone out of my pocket, waving it around in his face. "You'll get your banana milk later today. I promise."

He smiles, explaining that he had somewhere to be in a couple of minutes so he left, leaving me excited in the school parking lot.

I take a deep breath, letting this all sink in.

Just as I was about to get into my car and drive home, I spot Y/N, her earbuds in, textbooks held securely in her arms as she walks to her car.

I let out a peaceful sigh before sliding off the hood of my car, getting into it and driving away.
