STAR and SHINE book 1

Episode 4

"we're on at three sharp." Shine tells him after spitting out the water in her mouth
"We will be there ." Hunter  tells her she goes back to the salon smiling it's been about 2 weeks since we started this weird relationship and I was happy

"Well I see you in a better mood"cotton teases Shine roll her eyes and go upstairs and get ready then shine and the girls head to the dance studio they finished dancing to a song for the warm up
"rehearsal, we need to be rehearsing." alexandra says.  star and shine
walk over to their sister.
"Now that I'm not the spawn of satan I can be a caring sister ...you good?" Shine asks simone.
"yeah." simone answers while holding onto her hat. 
"what's going on?" alexandra questions.  "simone's being crazy." star answers.
"come on, you guys. we need to be ready for tonight." alexandra tells the three sisters before clicking play on her laptop for the song that they're performing at the hair show.  after a few seconds into their rehearsal of the dance, jahil walks in and cuts off the music.
"i need your attention, ladies."  Jhail says

"what's up, bro?" simone asks. 

"what do you want?" alexandra asked with attitude, dang did she wake up on the wrong side of the bed or something... shut up I'm different

"you need to learn some respect, little girl." jahil says as he points at alexandra.

"here, take a look at this. go ahead. read it. tell me what it says." he tells the girls as he hands them his cell phone.
"congratulations, you've been selected for the next round of the atlanta nextfest at the honda stage competition." alex reads as they all of the
girls started to laugh and scream in joy.

"alright, look. i just spoke with the reps. now they want to see a video of you all doing a live performance. that means we got a new deadline, two weeks." jahil tells the girls.  "okay, well derek's having a black lives matter event. maybe we can do it then." Shine suggests.  jahil shakes his head at her.
"nah, I don't wan to do political." 
"why don't we sing at miss carlotta's church benefit?" simone asks. 
"you're so cute, you little nut job. no, that's not sexy enough. we need these stiffs to stand up." jahil says.
  "what about the hair show we're performing at tonight? we're already doing it, and the judges at atlanta nextfest would never expect us to do a gladys knight song." star tells jahil. 

"you know, that's retro. shows  your history, shows your taste. i like it." jahil says as he nods his head.
  "bow down to gladys." alexandra states. 

"well, you know what? that's...That's why i love you. come here." jahil says before giving star a kiss on her cheek.

"that is a great idea. i mean, there's gonna be, like, hundreds of people there, right?"  star slightly nods her head.
"thousands."
"alright. hair show it is. well, come on." he says as he claps his hands.
"show me what you got. let's go." then he takes his phone out of alex's hands. 
"we did it!" alexandra exclaims. All of them start laughing as the lead into the rehearsal of the gladys knight song little they didn't know was that otis was watching

the girls were at the hair show, in their dressing rooms getting ready, except for sierra; she had to use the restroom. cotton looks at simone before turning to star.
"girl, is she gonna be okay?"  the blonde looks behind her at her sister.
"simone?"  cotton nods her head.
"yes." 
"she's gonna be fine. she don't have a choice." star tells her.  alexandra looks at the blonde.

"you can't make her do something if she's not ready. you, shine, and i can handle it." 
"right, and she did just get out of the hospital." cotton reminds star.
"what if she's tired?"  "thank you." alexandra says quietly.
  "we started this together. we're gonna finish this together." Shine  tells them.
"girl, look at her." cotton tells the blonde.  star and shine  turn around and look at there sister to see that she's just staring in the mirror.
"you gonna do something to get ready?"  Star said
Simone looks at her sister before throwing a lipgloss at her. alexandra bursts out in laughs. "you know what? so obnoxious, yo." star states. 
Dereck and hunter Entered and the girls smirked
"These are for you"hunter hands her flowers
"Knock em dead" they kiss her on the cheek and leave the girls squeal

"Girl you got two men's? Damn these young hoes are winning"miss bruce said
"Don't tell anyone bruce I mean it snitches get stitches"Shine said
It was time to perform

GLADYS: Ooh, I love you so  But why I love you, I'll never know  You found a reason for leaving  Soon as I gave my love to you  Oh, I   ALEXANDRA: Oh, I  I'm broken-hearted once again  I'm being dismissed by my man  Why don't you just understand?  I can't handle every night  I'm lonely, wishing I could feel your touch  Wanting, waiting, missing you so much  Baby, stop playing  Night after night  I lay here crying and praying   Oh, I really want you by my side  I wanna be your lover in your life  But all I get is your goodbye 
ALL: But even though you're leaving, cheating  Causing me this grief  I'm clinging to this love, baby 
ALEXANDRA: Maybe, eventually,  You'll fall in love and stay with me  Oh, yeah  GLADYS: Ooh I love you so 
ALL: I love you so  GLADYS: But why I love you, I'll never know  ALL: I'll never know-oh  GLADYS: You found a reason for leaving  ALL (+GLADYS): Soon as I gave my love to you  SHINE , SIMONE & ALEXANDRA: I already know 
STAR: You ain't the one for me  SIERRA, STAR & SHINE : I keep holding on  ALEXANDRA: Something's holding me  SIMONE & ALEXANDRA: I'm a puppet  STAR: On a set of strings 
SHINE , SIMONE & ALEXANDRA: Underneath a spell 
SHINE : Love sickness vexing me 
SIMONE: looking crazy To all of my friends  With my affair coming to an end  ALEXANDRA: Ooh, I can't even start to comprehend 
STAR: Why I keep on over again 
SHINE , SIMONE & ALEXANDRA: If I thought I could 
STAR: I just really would 
SHINE , SIMONE & ALEXANDRA: Walk right out your life 
STAR: For the last time 
SHINE , SIMONE & ALEXANDRA: Leave all this behind  STAR: Erase you from my mind  SHINE, SIMONE & ALEXANDRA: And close the door on you 
STAR: For all you put me through.
Star and Shine then say Otis in the crowd they looked at each other

after the girls walked off the stage and started to go back to their dressing rooms, but star and shine stopped alex while simone kept walking.
"you need to get simone out of here right now."  alexandra looked at her confused. "what? why?"she asked
  "please just go." shine begs.  the dark-skinned girl scoffs.
"girl, bye." 
"alex, he's here." star tells her.

"who?" alexandra asks.

"Simone's foster dad is at the hair show." Shine  tells her. then she reveals the curtain. "that's him right there in the plaid." 
"has either of she seen him?" alex questions.  "no, not yet. please just go. go." star tells her. and the dark-skinned girl walks away from her to find the davis twins. 
"Imma call the boys"shine said
"I'll call cotton"Star said shine walked down the hall and was pulled into a closet Simone's foster father towered over
"Im taking back Simone she's mine" he said pinning her to the wall
"When hell freezes over"she spat he through her down and walked out she tried to calm down. She then puts on a blank face she grabs a rat comb and holds it ready to stab the sick bastard with she stops by seeing star who tells her Simone is gone everyone starts panicking

"wait a minute." star opens a curtain to see Simone crying with a gun in hand and a knife in the other. 
star and shine sit on the couch that was next to the her and took gun out of her hands.
"otis." simone whisperers
"call the girls and tell them we got them." miss carlotta tells star. She sobs and Star tells her Otis is dead and  Shine haven't seen him since the closet so it wasn't her . They pretended like nothing was wrong until the show was over.
Then hunter and Dereck met up with Shine after the show she ran to them seeking comfort
