Jungkook stared at the kaleidoscope of colors that overcame his line of vision as he watched outside the passenger side car window. After hours of him and Jimin driving through the dull deserts to what would be their new home, he was suddenly stunned by the bright, flashing lights emitting from the billboard stating "Welcome to Elysian Fields".
He did not know much about the small town, apart from the mentions of the captivating scenery of its parks and the widespread appeal of the ice cream during his intensive Google search for "beautiful, tiny towns to live in for people with writer's block". He figured the changing environment would clear his mind and would assist him in his writings. After months of incapacitating writer's block, this is what he needed. So him and Jimin packed their bags and left the alienating streets of New York City. Maybe a more intimate location would do him well, Jungkook thought.
"If you keep your mouth open like that, mosquitoes are bound to go in. Then you'll get malaria and probs die", asserted Jimin, shifting his eyes between Jungkook and the road.
Jungkook quickly closed his mouth at the mention of mosquitoes. Not again. Those heathens will not win this time. "Oh shut up, Jimin. You're really killing my sad boi aesthetic right now. I'm suppose to be listening to a Coldplay song while sorrowfully looking out the window", sputtered Jungkook, scowling at Jimin after his rant.
"Whatever", replied Jimin while rolling his eyes.
After a few minutes of deafening silence, Jimin piped up, "I hear this place is haunted, ya know". Jungkook scowled then replied, "You say that about all the places we have gone to".
"Because I feel like that about every place we have gone to. It's almost like we're being haunted or something". Jungkook rolled his eyes.
"Okay. Then think of it this way, a small town far away from the chaos of city dwelling. Zombies are never gonna find us," exclaimed Jungkook. He knew Jimin was deathly afraid of zombies. This fear originated from the time Jungkook found an illegal link to watch "Train to Busan" and had begged Jimin for weeks to watch it with him. He remembers Jimin carrying around a crowbar a straight month after that, claiming it was for insurance purposes. Whatever that meant.
After quick contemplation, Jimin reckoned, "I guess it might not be so bad. But at the first sign of anything freaky, I'm dipping." "Where are you going? To the possibly zombie-infested city?", Jungkook bit back. This left Jimin silent.
After 20 more minutes of daydreaming for Jungkook and thoughts of murdering Jungkook from Jimin, they finally arrived to this cottage-like dwelling, surrounded by a multitude of vegetation and numerous flowers. The color was not as animated as Jungkook would have liked, but he excused it given that it was 2:00 AM. The one peculiar aspect of the house was the everlasting forest that adorned their backyard.
"Okay, this place is cute an all. Like don't get me wrong, I totally dig it. Yoongi and I could totally get it on underneath the starlight here, but the forest is giving me major creeps. This feels like the beginning of a horror film. In case you need a reminder, minorities are the first ones to go!", Jimin shouted, completely freaked out at this point.
"Are you done?", replied Jungkook nonchalantly.
"Yes," said Jimin with a sigh.
Despite him calm demeanor, Jungkook understood what Jimin was saying. Honestly, he only put up that facade to make himself seem cool. Not that he believed in ghost, cause that is completely, 100%, absolutely false. It's just that it was 2 AM and the forest did not look too inviting. He instead focused on moving in all of their things from the car, thinking of rewarding himself with some food afterwards. It's never too late to eat.
As time passed by, Jungkook felt this strange sensation tickling the back of his neck. Thinking it was a bug, he slapped the back of his neck so forcefully, but it only left a stinging pain and a red hand print. "I can't believe I just necked myself," thought Jungkook with embarrassment. Once Jungkook got over the humiliation he had just induced onto himself, he realized that if the anomalous feeling was not a bug, then what was it?
"Are you done playing with yourself? I need some help over here", stated Jimin after rolling his eyes.
After moving the last piece of furniture, the mirror (which Jimin said was the most important aspect of the house because he could see himself), Jungkook took a last look outside. It was still pitch black, but the sensation was still there. Maybe he was tired? Maybe it was the weed from earlier? Jaja jk, unless... Regardless, he would have plenty of time tomorrow to go explore. He'd be crazy if he went right now. Maybe it was a psycho who was wandering the forest? Does this town even have them? Is he the psycho? Jimin has called him that plenty of time, especially when he randomly starts having full-blown arguments with himself aloud. Or when he covers the air vents with toilet paper because he thinks someone lives their and watches him defecate. Who defines what a true psycho is? Maybe we are all-
"Come inside before the chupacabra gets you", exclaimed Jimin who was tired of watching Jungkook stare off into space for the past 5 minutes.
"I definitely need sleep", thinks Jungkook as he slightly recalls the existential crisis he just had.
A pair of chasmic, black eyes watched as the young boy ran into the house. This was his territory, and he would not let a mere child care for his belongings. Did no one tell them the history of this place? Silly mistake. He had a few tricks up his sleeve to get the strangers to leave. "But first, let me have some fun".
LMAO this kinda high key trash and my spelling and grammar is no bueno but... thoughts?
