Chapter 1: No Going Back

"Bye Dad! Love you!" I closed the car door and immediately made my way through the small crowds of students which formed every morning before school. I didn't even look back at my father as he drove off. I should have. Because it was the last time that I'd be seeing him.

XoXoXo

I made a face of disgust as I stood in front of the benches which were right at the front of the school, shoving my hands into the pockets of my coat in hopes of keeping them safe from the cold morning air. Sitting on the bench in front of me were three people. Drake, May, and Kayla, my three best friends. I was the youngest of the friend group, since they were all seniors while I was a junior, putting them all at the age of 18 while I was still 17.

The reason I was making a face was because Drake was kissing May on the lips while they cuddled close for warmth. Yes, these two were dating. Kayla, however, wasn't reacting because she was busy writing in her journal. I decided enough was enough and spoke up.

"Okay, I know I got you two together, but seriously don't do that in front of my poor innocent eyes!" They stopped kissing and May smiled with an eyebrow raised while Kayla gave a snort. Apparently she was aware of her surroundings.

"Faith, we all know just how 'innocent' your eyes are. They've probably seen worse than all of ours have." I gave a full grin at May's words, winking playfully, and she laughed at the playful action. However, when Drake spoke up, my smile shrank and I gave a groan.

"Actually no. Out of all of us here, I'm pretty sure I've seen way kinkier shit than the rest of you combined." May blushed with a small perverted smile.

"He's probably tried some of it too." I gave a sigh and glared at Drake, sticking my tongue out at him in a childish way only for him to bellow out a laugh, reaching out to roughly rub the top of my head, messing up my hair. I merely gave a squeak and started to fix it, glaring even more. We usually acted like this, and had a sibling-like rivalry with each other which others usually found amusing. My ears perked up when Kayla actually spoke.

"So, guys...This is it." We all turned our attention to the, usually quiet yet sailor-mouthed girl who was staring down at her journal with a bitter look. "I've only got two more pages left in my journal before I go bat-shit crazy." I smiled at her and stepped forward, patting her shoulder in a comforting way.

"Don't worry, I'll get you a new one for Christmas. I've got your back!" She smiled at me before lightly punching my shoulder in a playful and friendly way.

"You're ever the life saver, Faith. Thanks." I nodded at her with a smile.

"No problem!"

"Guys, I feel like shit right now." Kayla and I both turned to see a girl named Eliza sit down on the next bench. Kayla turned to face her while I walked to stand in front of her, leaving May and Drake to do whatever they pleased for the moment. Eliza is one of Kayla's friends, who I've befriended as well. Her eyes were looking red and puffy, with dark circles under them while her face was a sickly kind of pale.

"Girl, you look like shit too. Why the fuck are you in school!?" I nodded in agreement.

"Yeah, you look really bad." She gave a coughing fit and I flinched whilst Kayla grimaced. Once she was done, she swallowed heavily before taking a bottle of water from the side of her book bag and taking a small sip.

"I've got to take an important test today. My grade is riding on this test." I shook my head while Kayla spoke.

"Dude, they're gonna send you home. You know that ri-" suddenly, Eliza stood up and ran to one of the pillars, earning a strange look from a group of boys nearby. I gasped when I saw her start to throw up and my eyes widened when I saw a large amount of blood leave her lips instead of stomach acid, or whatever she ate for breakfast.
