Reflections of you

shards, that's what I call them, shattered and broken
pieces of what was once
the remnants to which am now bound
to, the result of what this life has become
forgotten, like a man in search of something
he can't find
searching as far as my eyes can see, upon
these vast sea of memories
bearing rough terrains of wounds that can't heal
I see nothing but reflections of a love I once knew, familiar, almost the same but different
in some way, looks like her but it ain't
see this one is different, doesn't look at me the same way, wears fake smiles to hide her pain, could swear her eyes were somehow filled with so much rage, seems to have also aged over the years, grown fond of a reality without me
and the love she once felt for me is long gone, buried and lost forever
she is long gone
and as I search for her, I know deep down
I'll never find her
so what's there to live for
