When I got home I talked to Aunt May. "May! I'm home!" I took off my mask. She came from the kitchen eating a sandwich. "You're home late today. Bad guys around hm?" I nodded my head no "There's this girl May, she's got powers." May raised her eyebrows. "Really? What kind?" I went in to my room while still talking. "Fire powers" I changed into regular clothes and came back out. "Yeah she can make fire come out of her hands and her head and her eyes turn from brown to black and red. She looks intimidating not gonna lie" May laughed. "Is this the same girl from yesterday?" I took a drink of some apple juice and continued. "Yeah!" May put her sandwich down. "Shes only a year younger than you right?" I sat down on the couch "yeah she-" May interrupted "Ah, ah, ah, no drinking on the couch Peter!" I stood up and laughed and sat at the table. "As I was saying, she's actually at a foster house now. Different from a home" May nodded her head as she sat across from me. "She doesn't have any other family to stay with?" I nodded my head no and took another drink. "Well aren't you lu-" she was cut off by a knock on the door. I got up and answered it. When I opened the door she was standing there. My eyes widened as did hers. "H-hey um I just moved in down the hall I uhm, wanted to say hello, I'm surprised you opened the door." I stuttered a bit "Y-yeah well y-"
"Peter who is it?" I stuttered until I finally let out a "c'mon in" she followed me and just kinda stood there. May closed the door to my room and came over. "May this is a new neighbor. She just moved in down the hall." May smiled "Hi! How are you nice to meet you!" Karen then smiled back "I'm good and you?" I didn't know what else to say so I just just spoke "May this is our new neighbor. I already said that uhm-" Karen looked at me and smiled lightly. May put her hands on her hips and replied "ooh! Awesome! What's your name?" She replied with her hands behind her back. "Karen!" May smiled "That's beautiful! Oh and I was gonna ask did you come here by yourself?" I bit my lip as she answered "Uhm yeah, my foster mom is busy." May nodded her head "Well it's so nice to meet you! I think you and Peter would be great friends." I laughed nervously "Y-yeah!" May then continued to embarrass me "Why don't you stay and get to know Peter a while?" I looked at May with wide eyes nodding no. I then looked at Karen and laughed nervously. Again. "Oor maybe some other time! Peter has to do some chores anyways" I smiled and Karen finally spoke again. "It's alright, I should be getting home anyways. It was really nice to meet you both!" She then walked towards the door and walked out but stopped halfway. "Bye May! And bye Peter.." she smiled at me. God it's almost like she knew that I'm Spider-Man. Once she left I waited a while to speak again. "Oh god May." She got my empty glass and put it in the kitchen. "She seems nice!" I sighed "Yeah she is but that's her!" May raised a brow. "Her? As in fire girl?" I nodded my head "She's the one that keeps sneaking into midtown every night!" May began washing the glass "Really? Why? Does she not go to school?" I nodded my head "But she didn't think it was enough so she learns from MJ!" May put the glass on the drying rack. "MJ? Your friend MJ?" I nodded "Yes MJ!" May sat on the couch "Well this is a good thing! It gives you an opportunity to get to know her better and figure her out" I sat down next to her. "Yeah I guess." May then looked at me confused. "W-what?" She turned her head back to the tv. "I wasn't kidding when I said you had chores spider boy. Now go clean your room." I laughed and stood up "Okay May..love you!" She turned around "I love you too Peter."

When I got in my room I grabbed my phone and was about to text Karen. I then stopped and thought to myself. Wait, that'd be too obvious. She'd suspect something. I put my phone back down on my desk and then sat in my chair. "Crap I forgot I was gonna meet Karen on the rooftop at 9!!" I looked at the time and it was 8:42. I quickly put my suit on and crawled out my window to the top of the building. There she was sitting down. I quickly approached her. "H-hey! Karen!" She turned around with a smile on her face. "Hey spider!" I went and sat down next to her. "So, I saw you helping that woman," she nodded her head. "I would never get it out of my head if I didn't help out." I nodded my head in agreement. "It's dangerous if you don't hide your identity though," she furrowed her brows and looked at me. "Why though?" I started to get comfy on the edge of the building. "Well if you make enemies and they know your face they can hurt you personally or your friends and family." She raised her brows slightly. "I didn't think of it that way." I told her about problems I've been through with hididng my identity and other stuff about protecting others while protecting yourself. It was already 9:37 and she decided to call it a night. "I had an awesome time tonight Karen." She smiled "Me too! You're really helpful. Oh! Before we leave, I got a question, do you know anything about Peter Parker? He seemed really nice." I stood on the edge of building. "You'll find out sooner or later." I let myself fall and swung away out of her sight. I later swung back since we do live in the same building after all. I crawled back into my room "I probably should clean my room. And wash my suit. I'll wash the suit first. Well and other clothes too. I'm still Peter Parker. He still exists too." I sighed as I stopped talking to myself. I grabbed a bunch of clothes and my suit and put them in a hamper. I then walked out and saw May asleep on the couch. I put down the hamper and went into her room to get her a blanket. I then saw a picture of Uncle Ben and May. I smiled and then looked down. I really miss him. I hope he thinks I'm doing the right thing with this whole Spider-man stuff. I grabbed a blanket from her closet and left her room. I put the blanket on her and lowered the tv volume. I then got the hamper and continued to go and wash my clothes. I always washed my clothes at night. Less of a risk of anybody seeing me washing my suit. When I got to the washing room I began to wash the clothes. I stuck my suit in first and then the rest of my clothes. I was about to close the door when I heard "Are these yours?" I turned around to see Karen holding a pair of my boxers. I could feel my face turn red. "Uhm yes thank you." She smiled as I put them in with the rest. "H-how long had you been standing there?" She sat down "Long enough" I nodded my head and my heart was pounding. She couldn't have just said like for five minutes or something?! She then spoke. "so Peter it's pretty neat knowing I'll be seeing you around." I nodded my head "Y-yeah" She stood up. "Well I better get going but before I go, can I have your number? I just got a new phone and you seem well, nice ha" My eyes widened. I don't have two different numbers shit! "Uhm, I would but I don't have my phone on me at the moment and I don't have my number memorized so I'll give it to you another time okay?" She nodded her head. "Oh alright. Sorry. I better get going." She walked away and she looked kind of sad. I closed the door to the washing machine and started the load. I then sat down and thought about what just happened. Was I rude? I don't think I was? Oh god I shouldn't have given her my number when I did. What do I do? I don't wanna seem mean! I could text her as Spider-Man and be like "I need you to delete my number for personal reasons" Or something like that. Hopefully she will. And then I can give her my number as Peter and hope that she didn't remember the number. I sat and thought about it for a while more when I realized the washer finished. I put all the clothes in the dryer making sure to put my suit first. I started the dryer and layed down on the bench. I thought about it some more and then was startled or woken up by a janitor there. "Hey kid, your clothes are done you might wanna go to sleep in your apartment." I looked up at the white haired man. He was smiling and had glasses on. "O-okay thank you sir I'll be on my way." I stood up "Don't worry about it kid." He looked a lot like one of our school bus drivers. I then made my way into the house again and put my clothes down in my room. I looked at the time it was 2:00am. I sighed and then closed my door and layed on my bed. I fell asleep thinking about her. I really hope she doesn't hate me now.
