Nyx deposited us back at the top of the cliff. Finn waved a goodbye, and we were on our way.

"What now?" I asked, stopping so that Finn could catch up.

"There has to be another way to get Mairen out."

"But how?"

"Honestly," Finn sighed, "I don't know. It could take years to piece together the puzzle that Alan has laid out for us. I, for one, don't want to be led on a wild goose chase again."

"Agreed. But where to start our search?" I asked.

"Mairen herself. Alan might have let some knowledge slip around her. So you have to get in there and find out what she knows."

"Are you serious?" I screeched. "I'm not going in there again!"

"You just rode in the mouth of a sea monster, Queenie. Your bravery and courage to leap into the unknown is something to be proud of."

"Okay." I agreed hesitantly. "I'll do it. But if I don't come back within two hours, continue on without me." I turned away and flapped off towards the lighthouse. I knew Alan's tricks this time. But I wouldn't let down my guard, even for a second. Not when I had a bone to pick with him about my missing memories.
