2 | Christianity is not boring

Karamihan sa mga tao ngayon, nate-turn off sila maging Kristyano dahil sa napakalaking misconception na "boring" daw maging follower ni Jesus.

At some point, hindi naman natin sila totally masisisi. Kasi if kung ang kinagisnan at kinalakihan nilang "Christianity" ay centered sa religious duty, it only means na ang nabuong perception nila pagdating kay Lord ay taga "mando" lang. They feel na they need to put up with a lot of "standards" and "rules". And if they don't comply, God will be angry at them and they shall certainly go to hell. So, why bother being a Christian anyway?

Pero ayun na nga, misconception lang ito.

Christianity is not centered on doing this and that so you can meet God's standards and enter heaven. Christianity is centered on Jesus and the finished work of the Cross.

Once we fully understand the essence of Jesus' sacrifice, mababasag ang maling misconception natin pagdating kay Lord. We will start to appreciate His grace. We will start to see God as a loving Father who sent His one and only Son just to save us from death.

Kapag may solid understanding na tayo sa ginawa ni Jesus, we will see Christianity as a "relationship" with God rather than a "religious duty".

To have a relationship with God is NOT boring. You know why? Like hello, nakakausap mo lang naman ang Creator ng universe? Ang Hari ng mga hari? How cool is that?

Kaya kapag ang usapan ay panalangin, pagbabasa ng Bible, pag-worship--dapat hindi ito "boring" para sa atin. Kasi hindi naman natin 'to dapat ginagawa dahil lang "kailangan". Ginagawa natin ito out of love. Ginagawa natin ito out of our desire to have relationship with the Lord.

But of course, it doesn't mean na dahil gracious si Lord ay okay na rin magpatuloy tayo sa same old sinful life natin.

The point is, dahil nga nakatanggap na tayo ng grace ni Lord, dahil nga patuloy na nagwo-work ang Holy Spirit sa atin, dapat patuloy din tayong nagpapabago. Iyong mga dati nating hilig gawin na hindi nakaka-honor kay Lord ay isusuko natin in exchange of what honors Him. Oo, sa una may "pain" kang mararamdaman. Surrender eh. Pero once, nag-repent ka, doon mo mararananasan 'yung tunay na enjoyment ng buhay.

Akala kasi natin masaya gawin ang mga "bawal".

Akala kasi natin masaya mabuhay sa paraan na gusto natin.

Akala kasi natin hadlang lang si Lord sa kaligayahan natin.

Akala lang natin iyon.

Dahil ang tunay na saya, ang tunay na kaligayahan ay kay Jesus lang natin matatagpuan. Kung masaya ka rati sa buhay mo kahit wala kang relationship kay Lord, the truth is, mababaw at panandalian lang ang nararanasan mong kasiyahan.

Kakaiba ang saya kapag ikaw may relationship ka kay Jesus. Sabi ng Bible, Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. If Jesus is life, then in order to truly live a meaningful, satisfying and everlasting life is when you acknowledge Jesus as your life.

You can choose how to live your life.

Live on your own way.

Or live following the way, the truth and the life Himself--Jesus?
