Making my way down to the guards' station, I handed over the goodies with a smile. They seemed grateful, thanking me and munching on the snacks eagerly.

"Hey, can you do me a favor and watch Kuma for a bit? And, shhh... don't tell Jennie I slipped out," I said with a grin before taking a quick stroll to the convenience store where I work.

"Hey Lisa, what brings you in today? I got a call last night saying you might be quitting," my manager asked as I walked up to the counter.

"Well, I don't think I can quit just yet. I'd be bored out of my mind if I did," I replied with a chuckle. Then, I got to work cleaning up the counter and making sure everything was in order, I still have my duty all the way up until closing time at 9 pm.

"Hey, I'll just tidy up that aisle," I told my manager as I handed over the counter. With a mop in hand, I strolled down to the aisle, all set to get it sparkling clean. As I wrapped up the mopping, I started fixing up the snacks on the shelves, looking to get them in order, when the voices of people caught my attention. It might just be a bunch of students.

Suddenly, a loud voice caught my attention. "What do you think you're doing?" I quickly turned around to see Jennie, dressed in a coat with her hair cascading down her back. In that moment, she looked super intimidating.

"I'm just working," I said, glancing up from my task

"I'm just working," I said, glancing up from my task.

Jennie's voice sliced through the quiet of the convenience store. "What do you think the media will say if they catch wind of you working here? Do you want them to make another embarrassing headline about me and this whole girlfriend thing?" Her irritation was palpable, and I couldn't help but take a step towards her.

"I'll be bored out of my mind at your penthouse all day, Jennie. This is how I used to live my life, and it's what I know. Should I be ashamed of working at a convenience store?" I asked, trying to reason with her. She simply rolled her eyes in response.

"Time to go, no more work for you," Jennie announced, striding out of the store. I was caught off guard by her sudden announcement and confused as to what was happening, when a group of guards came towards me. They motioned me to put away my mop and escorted me out of the store and into a waiting car. I feel more of a prisoner than anything.

As we settled into the car, Jennie handed me a bag and said, "Put on this shirt and coat. We're going to meet with some investors and media to talk about you." I rummaged through the bag and found a nice shirt and black coat inside. Luckily, I was already wearing my trusty black jeans, so I didn't have to worry about my outfit.

"What am I supposed to do or say?" I questioned with a perplexed expression.

"Don't worry, they'll give you all the instructions and even do your makeup for you once we arrive. Since it's Saturday tomorrow, we'll also have time to prepare some things with you," she reassured me.

With a simple nod, I sat there and let the information sink in. Suddenly, her voice interrupted my thoughts.

"Why are you just sitting there?"  she exclaimed, causing me to snap my head towards her once again.

"What's the problem?" I asked, confused by her sudden demand.

"Change your shirt!" she said in a bossy tone.

"Right now?" I asked, feeling awkward as there are two guys in the front seat.

"My head's killing me," she groaned, rubbing her temple. She scolded the guys at the front of the car, telling them not to look - even though they were already staring blankly ahead. Then she pivoted toward me, spreading out her coat to shield me from any gazes.

"Come on, hurry!" she exclaimed, causing me to jump as I quickly nodded and took off my shirt. I could hear her grumbling under her breath as I searched for a new shirt. "There's no need to hide anything, you know," she snapped, her frustration evident in her voice. I glanced over at her, unsure of what to say. "What? You have hardly anything under that bra, there's nothing to be embarrassed about," she muttered, her words barely audible to anyone but us. Finally, I finished getting dressed and she settled back into her seat, crossing her arms and gazing out the window.

"Thank you, girlfriend," I said, giving her a big hug. She flinched and pushed me away.

"Stop calling me your girlfriend!" she scolded with a glare. I chuckled and started packing my bag, putting my shirt in first.

"Alright, Jennie Kim," I teased, using her full name instead.
