As the teacher shushed the snickering students,
Haruka felt even more embarrassed.

All she could do was wait for recess,
which wasn't until three hours.

I might as well doze off.

She proceeded to rest her head on the table,
and within a few moments she fell into a deep sleep.

It was a rainy day.

Haruka happily recited "Humpty Dumpty"
as she sat in the backseat of the car.

Her father smiled at her through the rear-view mirror,
and her mother looked at her from the passenger's seat,
with loving eyes.

"Your teacher says that you're great at English for a five year old.
Much better than your peers."

As her mother said this,
Haruka's chest swelled with pride and joy—
happy that she made her parents proud.

"I still have a lot to learn, mama."

Haruka said,
humbling herself.

Her parents smiled.

Silence filled the car,
and Haruka decided to observe her surroundings.

She saw so many red flowers,
following the path of where they were going.

What a wonderful color.

She thought to herself in amazement.

Suddenly a high-pitched shriek broke the silence
and the last thing she heard was her father saying
"Brace yourselves!".

After what seemed to be an eternity, she awoke.

Her head felt severely painful,
and she tried to move but couldn't because of the pain.

She looked to see that everything was covered in the same color of the flowers she saw earlier—
everything was covered in red.

Her mom, her dad, the car's interior and glass,
even...herself.
