Everyone starts to clap.

"Alright everyone lets settle down."

I turn to Jin and tug on his shirt.

"Yes Alice?"

"Jin, I'm going to go to the bathroom. I'll be right back okay?"

"Okay babe."

I walk through the crowd of people to get to the gym's exit. I turn towards the girls locker room to get to the girls washroom.

To get there, there is a glass case full of pictures of different achievements of different classes.

I pass by it, but then I stopped at our year.

I then see photos of people in our class and all the trophies of that year. I then look up at a placard on our glass case to see engraved words.

Dedicated to Taehyung Kim, you'll always be remembered.

I couldn't stop staring at his name. I start to think of the past and it angered me. As I kept looking at it, I hear footsteps behind me.

I quickly turn my head to see if it was someone from the gym.

I didn't see anything or anyone.

It didn't bother or scare me, since I was upset thinking about the past.

I scoff and walk to the girls bathroom.

-

"What did I miss?"

"Nothing babe, just our old photos and the principal just talking about our class."

I just nod and purse my lips.

The mic screeches and everyone had their eyes on the principal.

"Well, this year, we had a tragic death. We loss a student from this year. Let's all have a moment of silence for Jimin Park."

The whole gymnasium grew quiet. All we could hear was everyones breathing.

As I put my head down, I turn to see a figure.

I then start to freeze, as if I couldn't move my body. I then moved my eyes to see that everyone else had frozen.

I look back to the figure, but I couldn't make out the face.

The figure slowly walks towards me. I couldn't move, but my heart rate was growing quick.

I then start to have an anxiety attack, feeling so helpless.

What's going on?

-

"Alice!"

I then opened my eyes and take in a deep breath; as if I have been drowning in water for a while.

"Alice, are you alright?"

I am shaken up and I turn my head to see if the figure was there.

Nothing.

I then take a look back to Jin with wide eyes.

"Alice are you alri—"

He gets cut off from the principal talking.

"Jimin was such a great student. Hard working and such a helpful person."

All of a sudden, the ceiling lights start to glitch.

We all look up to see that it kept glitching for a while.

"Jimin, we will never forget you and the person you were. You will always be in our hearts."

The lights start to flicker again, more aggressively. It then stops.

The principal starts to chuckle and joke about the lights.

"What's wrong with the lights guys? Where's the maintenance man."

Just then, the lights go back to normal.

Everyone just begins to look around. Then, we all look back to the principal.

"Alright everybody. Remember the last time you guys spent with each other? Your prom night?"

Everyone in the crowd starts to yell back and get excited.

"Well."

The principal turns around to look at the projection screen.

It shows Jin and I during prom.

Everyone in the crowd starts to yell at us.

"Woo! You guys still look the same!"

"Aww, high school sweet hearts."

Some of Jin's old friends start to pat him on the back and joke around with him.

The lights then start to flicker, intensely.

It then starts to turn on and off; as if it was a heart beat.

Everyone ignored it, but I somehow just stared at it.

The principal starts to talk.

"Well, aren't they a cute couple. They lasted this long. I heard you guys are getting married soon!"

Everyone starts to get rowdy again, cheering for us.

The lights start to flicker again, quicker, faster, harsher.

Then,

One of the lights bursted and everyone started to scream.

The fire alarm went off and so did the fire system.

The alarm sprinklers went off and it poured on all of us.

We all started to evacuate the building.

As we get closer to the exit, we passed by the girls locker room.

I look at it and I just shake my head; not wanting to think about the memory that I associate it with.

Before I could turn my head, I see a dark shadow figure.

Their back was facing me. I couldn't see anything, but they were wearing the schools gym uniform.

I squint my eyes to see the name on the back.

K...Kim.

It can't be.

I turned away and walked as quickly I can with the crowd.

Quickly, trying to forget my past with him.
