- everyone thinks don anastasio/The Pilosopo Tasyo is crazy but he’s just really smart
- pilosopo tasyo came from a rich family but then they stopped him from studying college because someone told his mom studying will make him crazy and he might forget God
- he chose to marry instead of becoming priest but then his wife died so he’s back to reading and studying so much again that he ruins himself
- one day he’s really happy even if it was storming
- he goes in the church and calls the sacristans but the sacristan mayors wouldn’t let them leave because they still have stuff to do, also they need more money
- when tasyo gets home don filipo is there and they talk about how they saw ibarra
- they talk about purgatory and tasyo believes in it “dahil sa purgatoryo ay hindi nalalagot ang pagkakaugnay ng mga buhay sa mga patay.” Purgatory connects the living and the dead
