"Aba! Sige nga. Tignan natin kung magugustuhan ko yan."
"Maganda yung naisip ko, katunog ng tawag mo sakin."
"Ano yun?"
"Chibi." He's grinning at me.
"Hoy, iniinsulto mo ba ako?"
"Hahah hindi ah! Alam nating pareho na hindi ka nangangalahati sa ganda ni Liza Soberano. Pero hindi ka naman panget, okay? You're cute." Kinurot niya ang pisngi ko. "At hindi nakakasawang tignan ang mukhang to. Hay, cute mo talaga."
He smiled. I did the same.
"Hay naku. Kumain na nga tayo. Parang nakakaramdam na ako ng hiya sa ginagawa natin."
"Haha..same here. Do we really need to have endearment?"
"Ewan. Ikaw kaya itong nauna noh."
"Well, sa totoo lang gusto kong subukan pero mas komportable pa rin ako na tinatawag kita sa pangalan mo. Ikaw? What do you think?"
"Hm, actually pareho tayo. I like calling you with your name or just your nickname."
"So, why do you think most couples use endearment?"
"Hmm... nabasa ko lang ito from a certain site years before, when I was still in college. Sabi nila, couples use endearments or pet names because it conveys their feelings to their partner. Well, it makes you feel special in some way. Like, noong mga bata pa tayo, our mom usually use baby talks. It's sweet and that's how they showed their love for us."
"Hmm...now I understand. Talino ng girlfriend ko ah."
"Hay, maliit na bagay."
"Haha, nakakabwisit ka minsan."
"Ikaw rin."
And we just laughed. Baliw noh?
He continued. "Pero hindi ba talaga natin susubukan?"
"I might call you 'bee' from time to time. Let's based it from what we feel siguro, hindi yung napipilitan lang, diba?"
"I agree."
"By the way, thank you talaga for this day. I really felt blessed, Cal. Alam na alam mo talaga kung ano ang gusto ko."
"I'm also blessed na nagustuhan mo ang surprise ko sayo. Pero huwag mo lang asahan to palagi ah. Hahaha, mahirap na baka madisappoint pa kita. Hehe.."
"Hahaha. You know, you're presence is enough, Cal. Kahit mag-fishball lang tayo sa gilid pwede na eh. Basta kasama kita."
"Wow ang sweet naman ng girlfiend ko. Pa-kiss nga."
"Suntok gusto moh? "
"Hahahah! Biro lang!"
We continued our random, nonsense talk until were done with our food. And like what he promised, sinamahan niya ako pabalik sa garden at sa Hydroponic Greenhouse.
I know that he was not really a naturalist like me, but I can see that he's also enjoying the view.
We picked strawberries and I made a promise to bake him a cake. I also mentioned to him about the invitation from Robi's family.
After than fun-filled date, hinatid niya na ako sa bahay.
"Thank you, Cal." I said.
"Thank you lang? " He's smilingly complaining at me now.
I moved closer to him, whispered the words "I love you, bee", and planted a kiss on his cheek.
I wanted to move away to see his reaction but he pulled me closer to him and planted a kiss on my forehead --- then we looked at each other's eyes.
"I love you too, Chibi. Take a rest, okay?"
"Ikaw din."
And that's just how we ended our day together. Our date might not be comparable to other known dates of most couples but we're moving along with our pace. We're taking things slowly and enjoying our time together.
Thank you Lord for this day. Please always guide Calvin. I pray for his healing also for his family.
PS. I forgot to tell Calvin about Jeremy. I'll just tell Calvin about him when we meet again.
