So I've recently started reading Queen's Shadow and I really love it! It shows this brand new side to Padme - fun with her handmaidens, goes into detail about being Queen. A few of my favorite parts is:
1) Details about her outfit. It actually was designed to resist blaster fire, hide listening devices and shields, and allow Padme to slip out of the whole thing if she had to. Cool, huh?
2) Details about how Padme slips into the role of Queen. She changes the tone and cadence of her voice when she speaks as the Queen and it's one that she and her decoy invented together because they can both copy it exactly.
3) The new Queen's been voted in, so she's thinking about what she wants to do in the future and right now, she wants to use all her money to free as many slaves from Tatooine as possible.
4) THIS LINE: "She felt a brief whisper in her heart when she allowed herself to think of a little boy who had been cold in space and a mother brave enough to let him go where she could not."
GAAAAH FEELS! :)
