Gun shots.
My heart was pounding out of my chest as I laid in the still slightly damp grass. I looked around me and watched as chaos unraveled before my eyes. I could still hear Suge by Da Baby playing from the DJ booth but I also heard screaming and the sound of shoes hitting the pavement.
I looked around and saw the big crowd of people running out the yard from all directions. The very same yard where we were just having fun and dancing in not even two seconds ago. The last party of the school year.
There were others taking cover on the ground but they too started to run out the yard after a few seconds went by.
I was frozen.
Frozen in fear until I realized Jordan wasn't next to me anymore or anywhere in sight.
