Emerald's POV...

Do you ever just feel so upset with life that you don't care anymore? I had never encountered that feeling until today. It was a day full of surprises; the kind of surprise no one would ever wish for and it all started by the sudden appearance of my darling mate, Zachary.

Clearly irritated by the sight of this handsome guy, well I just realised he is, I rushed out of the café to where I last left Amber and Chris hoping to find them. Maybe you guessed it already, they weren't there. How could they be there anyways? Lady luck ain't on my side today. The sun was really bright at this time of the day blurring my vision. Beads of perspiration hung to my forehead dripping slowly down my face making me look like I just walked out of an oil manufacturing factory.

Defeated, I walked to my locker aimlessly to retrieve my book for my next class which was biology. Amber and Chris would definitely be there. My hair was already messy, my face was oily, Zachary is back. You must be thinking what worst could happen in a day right? I thought so too. Well, hold on!

Five minutes until biology started I meandered through the corridors trying to find the right class to get into. Did Rutherford had to be so huge? A hopeful smile spread on my lips as I got a glimpse of Amber's pitch black hair. However, a scowl immediately replaced my smile as I saw who Amber was talking to. Guess who?

Ian.

They were staring at each other. Their faces were red with all the blood their heart must be pumping right now and Amber was fidgeting around. Ian was as usual his joyful self enjoying his proximity with Amber. I rolled my eyes as a wave of frustration overcame me. I had enough troubles for the day and now I had to deal with this love struck couple.

Wait a minute. If Ian and Zachary are here, Vincent and Adam must be here too. Of course, the whole gang would be pleased to watch my dreams crushed by their brother. I was too weak already to confront Zachary regarding going back to wolf world. I am really sorry but destiny got to wait for this conversation to crop up since I am drained of even the tiniest kilojoules of energy in my body.

I walked up to Amber and Ian who are having casual conversations and flirting subtly. I can't believe they are so engrossed into each other that they didn't notice I was just beside them.

"Helloooooo," I waved.

Really nice Amber! You forgot about your sister as soon as your crush sprang up in front of you huh? I gave up trying to get her attention as she is already a lost case. I entered the classroom and sat on the nearest bench I found unoccupied and placed my bag on the seat beside me. Amber will be sitting next to Ian. It's an unspoken thing between us. You know sister's telepathy?

It's just now that my mind deviated to Callum. Oh God! I sank on my chair. I couldn't even talk to him properly. I just hate the situation I am in. My life is messier than my hair.

Really? Was that the best thing you could say Emerald?

I am tired okay?

Great! Now I am fighting with my imaginary self.

Coming to the point, my life just took an unexpected turn. Will I have to go back to wolf world? It's just been three days and I haven't even went out of Rutherford yet to explore the city. I don't want to return there; atleast not so soon. I know I'll have to go back but I want some time away. I got to figure a lot of things out before heading to my previous life and the primordial one is to find a way not to mate with that arrogant jerk.

My train of thoughts were halted by the loud ring of the bell just outside the classroom and as if the teacher was waiting for the bell just behind the door, he entered followed by Amber and Ian. I made eye contact with Amber as she threw an apologetic smile in my direction and took her seat beside Ian in the row next to mine. My face must be looking like I am ready to murder someone right now. Ugh! I hate the day I supported her decision to keep up her crush on this guy. He is robbing me of my sister's attention.
