I rush down the stairs feeling my heart hammering against my chest at the very thought of another harsh beating against my bruised body.

What the hell alarm, I thought I could count on you dam it!!!

I grab the bread out of the pantry and put it into the toaster turning it on while I get started with the scrambled eggs powering through to try and save me some time to hide the fact of my hour sleep in.

I set out the plates putting the eggs into them half done knowing the consequences of a half ass breakfast, I grab the toast from the toaster and plop it down next to the eggs mimicking this process with the others. I line the cutlery next to each plate neatly to avoid anymore beating from the eggs I half cooked whining at the imagine in my mind.

I dash up the stairs placing my feet lightly on each step to avoid any detection from the loud creaks in the floorboards, I make it to my doorway about to open the ajar door wider before I hear the ear splitting sound of a door opening behind me.

"WHY ARE YOU STILL HERE!"  David screams at me through his sleepy daze.

He stomps his way over me with a series of grunts and growls until he was practically right on top of me. His breath was rough and pungent with the undeniable scent of beer lingering in his breath from his nightly run to the pub.

I wasn't always here, I had a mom, a dad, but things are different now. I was sitting on the couch when they explained to me they would be away for a while on a three night trip to New York for a job offer they were in desperate need of.

The business targets small families running out of money who are desperate for anything to hold on to. It made me sick thinking of a company running on desperate people who just want to help their own families.

They thought this would be a chance to fix our broken family and be able to have enough money to go out and do things together before I got older. I didn't know that when I watched them drive down the road waving their goodbye's, that was the last time I would see my family again.

I waited each night not thinking much about my parents but instead about the possibility of someone braking into the house while I'm asleep or the darkness eating me alive. I know it's childish to be afraid of the dark but it scares the hell out of me.

When the three day period finished I was a bit surprised that they didn't come home, maybe they got held up and are sleeping at a motel somewhere thinking of their new job instead of calling me.

I waited the next night, when I didn't see anyone turn up i tried to call them but their phones both went to voicemail, maybe their phones were off for some unknown reason.

The third night I was running out of excuses to keep my anxiety away so I started to to think I was overreacting and that I might become one of those crazy people in asylums, I watch way too many movies.

I shook the feeling off about something that crazy actually happening to me. As a car went down the road my anxiety started to flush away as let go of a big sigh with the relief of knowing their coming down the road straight towards me.

When a police officer came out of the car my face turned white with fear with a tight ball forming in my throat. He walked up to me holding his hat in his hands with a frown on his face, not one of those fake ones people give you when they don't really care but want to help, but a frown of real sadness with loss of words to explain what happened to my parents.

He told me they were in a airplane crash after colliding it's left wing with another plane while in the air. The plane crashed into the water sinking with the passengers still inside suffocating them slowly as water filled into it. He explained they are working on a search but for now I have to go with him.
