A dragon sanctu-WHAT!?

Living on Berk was amazing. Hiccup is so nice and friendly. I mean I can't believe that I befriended a fleshbag. NightSky has gotten me to open up more with the fleshbags. I still hate Snotlout, but the others are okay. The twins are just too rowdy for me. Today's the day NightSky lets me tag along with him and Hiccup on finding new islands. "Streaks, come on!!" I get from my relaxed position and trot over to NightSky. "I'm here. Let's fly!!" Suddenly memories of my brother come back and that causes me to fall back down. "Are you okay?" I only look away from him. I then feel my head being moved. Soon my eyes were locked on to NightSky's. "I won't let anything happen to you. Just as long as you have my back". I laugh which causes him to smile. I and NightSky have formed a bond over the past three months. He told me about how he lost one of his tail fins and how he and Hiccup changed the Viking and dragon dynamics. I in return told him about how I lost my family and the gang. Anyway back to the present. "I'll always have your back". Hiccup then comes over and saddles NightSky. "Alright, time to go". With that said NightSky and I took to the sky. We saw a whole flock of dragons probably migrating. They almost knocked me down, but thankfully I kept my balance. We've been flying for two hours at least that's what Hiccup told us. I was about to start a conversation with NightSky when I saw a shadow. It wasn't just any shadow it was a huge dragons' shadow. NightSky must've seen it too cuz he also stopped flying and was hovering in place. The dragon then lunged for Hiccup and knocked him off of NightSky. Since Hiccup didn't attach the tail fin that allowed NightSky to fly on his own both of them were sent tumbling down. I dive down in hopes of catching one of them when something hits me and I'm sent falling. "Ow!!" Thankfully when I landed the snow helped lessen the pain of the crash. "FireFly!! Where are you!?" Hiccup yelled. Hiccup!? Oh, thank the stars he's alive. I run towards the direction of his voice. Halfway towards Hiccup I slip and bump into NightSky who was shaking the water off of himself. "Sorry!!" I tell him. Before he can reply the mysterious dragon lands in front of us and sitting on top of it was a ... fleshbag? Getting a closer look at the dragon I realize that it's a male Stormcutter. "Who are you?" Hiccup asked. While Hiccup was conversing with the strange fleshbag I started to scope out the island. I smelt snow and something I couldn't put my paw on. "What!? You're my mother!?" Turning around I see that the strange fleshbag removed the mask on her face. She looks similar to Hiccup except she didn't have brown fur on her head it was instead black. A mother never forgets". She replies. I decided I didn't want to hear the rest of the conversation so I continued my scouting. I don't far because something has a hold on my tail. I'm then dragged back to Hiccup and his mother. "NightSky you know I can walk". "Yeah, walk away from Hiccup and Valka". Huh? Whose Valka? Is it the Stormcutter. Probably noticing my confusion NightSky told me that Valka is the name of Hiccup's mother. "Would you look at that a NightFury and who else do we have here?" Valka says. "Oh, that's FireFly and the NightFury is Toothless". Valka starts to walk closer to me. Once she gets at an arm's length away from me I shot a smoke bomb near her. Just to let her know that this is as close as she gets to me. "A smoke blast? Hmm? Only one type of dragon can do this". Valka states. My ears shoot up and my whole posture changes. I get up and start to circle Valka while keeping my eyes glued to hers. She then starts to smile before motioning for me to come closer to her. Not knowing why I obeyed. She puts her hand under my chin and in a matter of seconds, I'm on the ground .... purring? I have never in all my life purred before. It is amazing!! She then rubs my belly which surprisingly I'm okay with. I hear laughter but I'm too caught up in delight to care. "You said you know what type of dragon she is? Can you tell me?" "I'll tell you if you tell me why you call her FireFly". Really? That's what she wants to know. You know what I do too. Go on Hiccup tell me - I mean Valka why my new name is FireFly. "It's because when this house was on fire she flew through it to save a little girl". Valka chuckles before moving to NightSky. I whine from the loss of contact. She does the same thing she did to me on NightSky. In a flash, he was laying down with his paws in the air. I trot over to Hiccup and sit down beside him. "She's a Fire Fury". "I'm sorry a what?" Valka had a sly look in her eye when she said: "Why don't me and Cloudjumper show you?" I turn my attention to Cloudjumper who also had a sly look in his eyes. I'm starting to feel scared. I look over at NightSky who was playing with spines? How did he get those? Before I had a chance to ask him we were moving. Nevermind we were only following Valka and CJ (My nickname for Cloudjumper) to a cave? When nearing the cave I catch a scent of something that has me running into the cave. The cave has a lot of twist and turns. After what seemed like hours I see light. Walking through the light I see something that makes me screech in astoundment. It was dragons. A whole bunch of them!! I am at a loss for words. It looks like a sanctuary. Gazing around I spot a Bewilderbeast. I don't know why but I started to go near him. He looks up at me before blowing ice cold mist in my direction. Not knowing what to do I mimic his actions by using my smoke bomb. The dragons around me pause in what they were doing. The realization hits me like an arrow. The Bewilderbeast is the alpha and I just shot at him. Before I was able to apologize he simply chuckled. "Do not be frightened, little one. I am not angry. Go on back to your friends". I nod my head at him before complying to his request. I soon spot my friends and fly up to them. My action caused some of the hatchlings that were surrounding NightSky to leave. I guess I scared them. My bad. "Hey, Streaks!! You are a lifesaver!! I thought those pests would never leave!!" I snort in amusement. Gaining an idea in my mischievous mind I pounce at NightSky. It sends us tumbling to the ground. However, my plan backfired when NightSky got the upper paw and pinned me down. I growl in frustration. It was supposed to be the other way around. "Ha!! You are no match for me!!" "Wanna bet?" "Um ... who has who pinned to the ground again? Oh, yeah it's me!!" "Just get off of me!!" "Say it!!" "Ugh ... You are the strongest dragon". He finally gets off of me. Getting up on my paws I face him before using my tail to slightly smack him. "Hey, don't be a sore loser!!" I roll my eyes at him. I soon turn my attention to the scene before me. It was stunning. Dragons of all kinds were here in this sanctuary. My wings spread and in an instance, I was in the air. I fly up to a green Nadder and try to strike up a conversation with him. "Hi, I'm StarFire and you are?" "Not interested in talking with a kid". With that said he left. I hovered there for a few seconds before anger starts to creep into my system. I ram into the rude Nadder and snarl at him. "How dare you!! I am not a kid!!" He snaps at me but luckily I avoid it, unfortunately, his tail hits me. I'm set pummeling into the ground luckily, I land near the entrance of the cave. Getting on paws I direct my attention to the Nadder. He drops to the ground then starts to stalk towards me. Not wanting to back down from this fight I shoot acid at him. It hits him directly on his muzzle. He screeches in pain which makes me do a victory laugh. I do a little twirl, but all of a sudden I scream. One of his spines penetrates my hind quarter. I turn to the wound and see that it could become infected. Glaring at the spine embedded into my hind left leg I pull it out. "Serves ya right, kid? Next time don't celebrate until you know your opponent is defeated". Ooo I wanna claw his face off, but I have to take care of this wound. First I lick the wound and make sure that it's nice and clean. Then I make sure when I'm walking to not put direct pressure on the injured leg. The last thing to do is the most important one; show no one that you are injured. That's something DarkFlame taught me. Suddenly feeling very tired I lay down and decide to take a little nap. That was the plan until NightSky came prancing by and telling me all about his cool spines and how intelligent Valka is. I smile at his happiness and just listen to his story. "Hey, Streaks? I'm glad I met you". This made my head shoot up and turn to face him. Wait ... when did he lay down next me? Hold up when did he stop telling his story? His vivid green eyes meet my amber eyes and for a second I feel ... something? It felt like - nevermind I lost it. "Why?" Sadly, that was the only thing I could think of saying. "Before you came here life was predictable, but when you came everything became exciting. With you being with me I feel more at peace. I think what I'm trying to say is thank you for being my friend and someone I can relate to." For a moment all I could do was stare at him my maw agape. Not knowing what to say I put my snout to his. I caught Seeker and Lightning do this. I believed that it was a sign of trust and happiness, but from what NightSky did I would say it must have a deeper meaning than that. He jumped in the air and took a couple of steps backward. I give him a bewildered look before it becomes saddened. I turn my head away from him. All I can think about is what a stupid thing I did. Embarrassed as I am I put my wings over my head and curl up into a ball. Something pulls at my wings which causes them to open. However, I keep my eyes closed and head turned away from the dragon standing in front of me. "Look I'm sorry for my reaction. I just wasn't expecting you to do that. Judging from your expression you have no idea what you just did. Well, you see only mates do noses". Ugh, I should've known it was for mates. Stupid, StarFire. I pick my head up and direct my attention to him. "I apologize. I believed that one noses someone to show their happiness. I hope you can forgive me". He just gives me a gummy smile. Taking that as he forgives me I return the smile. "Come on we better go find Hiccup. He's probably worried sick about us". Getting up from my laying position and limp towards the cave. NightSky only a few feet behind me. I'm surprised he doesn't comment on my limp. Walking deeper into the cave I see some weird fleshbag equipment. Soon I spot Hiccup, Valka, and .... Hiccup's Dad!? What is he doing here!? A better question is How did he get here? Hiccup sees us and motions for us to come over. Not really wanting to go over there I stay where I am. NightSky on the other paw goes. I go to a secluded place in the cave and check up on my wound. I almost let out a surprised howl. The wound was nowhere in sight. I stretch it out and no pain comes from doing so. I can't believe it healed!! If it's healed why am I still limping? I get up and walk on all of my paws and realize that I'm not even limping anymore. That's probably why NightSky didn't comment on my limp. It was because I wasn't even limping in the first place. I direct my attention to the others and see that NightSky is peering at me. He has a skeptical look on his face. I was about to ask him why he's looking at me like that when I feel a shift. The shift was so small you would've missed it. Everything got quiet before chaos broke loose. Shrieking, growling, yowls, and howls erupt from the sanctuary. I along with the others race out to see what the situation is. My maw drops and my whole posture goes rigid. Dragons are being shot down and captured by - no it can't be. He couldn't be here. It must be another fleshbag who uses dragons to get what he wants. The ground starts to shake. I almost fall off of the cliff if NightSky hadn't grabbed my tail. I send him a grateful smile before a dark Bewilderbeast erupts from the ice cold ocean. On top of the gigantic beast is ... HIM!!

A/N - Hello!! This chapter took a lot out of me!! I thought I would never get this chapter done. Well, here it is. The next chapter may be even longer than this seeing as how the good stuff happens. Can't wait for summer!!
