I stuffed my phone in my pocket and quickly opened my door and speed walked into the living hoping to not have any contact with Nani. Which terribly failed
"Where are you going?"
"Monse's" I said while walking to the front and putting my hand on the knob
"Shouldn't you stay home because of yesterday?" she asked
"There's still light out, prophets never roll up in the day" I say bluntly. I was getting anxious, just thinking about Latrelle and how bad he's doing.
"Kayla I really think you should stay home any way. You don't know whats out there" she said back to me.
"No Nina. I can't" I said back before opening the door and walked out, the beam of sunlight that just barely separates the sky from a light pink and wavy orange shone on me as I walked on the sidewalk to Monse's house. I heard distant yells from Nani telling me to come back but I kept running. Adrenaline poisoning my blood flow as I kept walking not looking back.
I walked up the porch and knocked on the door to instantly be face to face with Ruby.
