I sat in my office going over the work I had done earlier. We were supposed to send some of our own work for a segment in the LA magazine. We did it every month and we got payed well for it. It was someone who really loved the photography that we do and they did a segment on it every month in the LA magazine. Ian, a really good friend of mine, and the manager asked me to put some of my stuff in it and it's been a hit ever since.

It's been a long and crazy journey since I graduated from high school. Sariah and Steven were still my best friends. I talked to them ever chance I got, which wasn't a lot because I was extremely busy. I had an apartment here in Bel Air. Ian hooked me up with it and got me a roommate as well. She works for the same company so we have a lot in common. It was definitely a big step for me but I was finally in a place I could be myself. I was the Fresh Princess of Bel Air.

The place I lived at was Bel Air Village. I probably could have payed for it myself but It gave me a chance to save up and pay for a ride home whenever I needed to. I've actually gone home often and hung out with family. I told them about the adventures i've gone on and how I'm making more money than I dreamed of.

PSF is a company that takes pictures for people in the fame industry. Some are hired as a personal photographer for shows, others are around the studio taking pictures of the person or band that has been scheduled to come in for the time. I mostly stay in the studio because ever offer i've gotten to go around the world was for too long and it's something I wasn't committed to doing yet. I didn't want to just pack up and leave. I needed more experience and training.

I've gotten skilled at what I do but it was all because of Ian. He's taught me all I need to know and I'm still learning.

"Est!" Ian called out to me. Believe it or not, Ian was only a year older than I was. I was surprised myself when I first saw him. I really didn't believe that he was the manager but I guess this business runs in the family and he took over when it was getting successful. He is another of many people I know that has dropped out of school.

Aside from his age, he really is very professional. He has his corky personality but he is still all about his business as well. If he wasn't my boss, I would admit to myself that he's extremely attractive and he flirts with me non stop, but I don't know how well that would work out considering I work for him. He does have the attitude of a 20-21 year old sometimes. He's fun to hang out with and we've become one of my good friends. I've made a lot of them since senior year.

"Yeah?" I asked.

"There's someone in the front who is asking to speak with you" He explained

I got up from my messy desk and walked out of my office. I walked down the hall and in to the front where a man stood, looking at the walls covered in the employees work.

"Pres" Ian said and the guy looked over and smiled.

"Ester Murphy?" He said.

"That would be me" I smiled.

"I'm Preston from Modest Management. We've some of your work.." He said "And we scheduled some time to come over and meet you."

"Wow, that's nice of you" I blushed. I went shook his hand.

Ian walked out leaving just Preston and I.

"Why don't you come in to my office and we can talk?" I asked. He nodded and agreed and we walked back to the room.

"Managment has been talking a lot about you and they've brought you up in our meetings." Preston explained "You have a unique look to us and we were wondering if you were up for doing a shoot for one of our bands new book coming out."

"That sounds great, but I would need some more detail.. like who the band is, what kind of style they're looking for.. because there are many other options her at PSF.." I explained. I wanted him to know that i'm not the only one here. I'm far less experienced than anyone here.

"No, we've made it very clear that we want you." Preston assured me.

"So who's the band?" I asked, leaning on the desk.

"One Direction" He explained. All I could think of was: 5 Seconds of Summer; touring with the one and only One Direction. "They're making a book called Who We Are and we've been wanting to gets some high qualitly photos. Everyone has requested you."

"Wow.. Okay.." I nodded. "Would it be just One Direction?" I asked shakily.

"Yes." He nodded.

"Alright," I nodded and started to write this in my planner. "And when would this occur?"

"We were thinking whenever you would be free. The max time we can wait is until next month." he told me. "And before you say you're busy, we believe that this could be a huge opportunity for you.. the boys have a very big fan base and we thought it would benefit both of us."

"I'm completely free in two weeks time." I smiled.

"Perfect." He nodded. "I'll call them and let them know we have our photographer. Thank you so much."

"Of course." I nodded.

-----------------------------

"Ester" Kezia called to me. I walked into the living room and she sat there on the couch reading her book. She is older than I am but we both act the same. She is turning 24 soon and I am almost 19. She's another good friend of mine.

"Why are you moping?" She asked me.

"What are you talking about?" I giggled and sat down next to her.

"You've been walking around here like you're dying." She told me "And it's killing my vibe"

I just sighed and realized something - more like someone - has been on my mind.

"Kez, if I tell you something.. do you promise not to tell anyone?" I asked.

"Of course Est, that's what friends are for right?" She stated.

"Yeah." I nodded.

I began to spew out my whole life story and how senior year was for me. I told her about my struggles and my time with Calum and how I over reacted but I was still so angry at him and I had no right to be. I told her that I never wanted to talk to him again but since I will be working with One Direction soon, I'm scared that he will pop up. I'm scared i'll see him again because that's the last thing I want to happen. I'm done with him and I don't have feelings for him anymore. I don't want him bugging me and bringing back the past.

"Ester, you need to think of yourself. Forget about him and think of your career. Think about the amazing opportunities you could have. Don't think about who you're going to see or who your going to come across because I'm going to tell you that you're going to meet people that you want to punch in the face. There's nothing you can do about that. It's life." She told me.

"Thanks Kez" I smiled at her.

"Take what ever offer you believe will help you and your career, don't tip toe around what you believe would be uncomfortable." He explained.

I felt at ease and I accepted that this one gig could be a big opportunity for me.

It's the start of a crazy adventure.
