The beginning
Red hair flew past the ramen shop, leaving the curtains to flutter in the blurs wake. Anyone else on the road could hear the woman's ragged breath whistling through her teeth. She just kept running, though,  towards the house on the hill. Glancing up at the home, Kushina let her thoughts grab her away from her original news. Her brain forcing herself to be mindful of the being, now known about, inside her and telling her that keeping this pace from the hospital to home wasn't a good idea. Ignoring her brain, she decided to keep on running. She couldn't stop now.

She had to report this.

Still running, she almost bumped into many people and children, like the little Kakashi, with his father running after him. A belt in his hands. Taking no note of the sad scene in front of her, the red-hair Jinchuuriki simply went around the little five year old and continued her mad dash toward her home. Passing everyone and not paying attention to anything, she sped up the stairs as fast as she could.

Minato was dressed in simple black pants and long-sleeved sweater. Dark blue apron over his clothing. He was doing the dishes, scrubbing the plate with a sponge. Humming to himself, he didn't waste any soap, washing everything clean. He finished all the dishes and walked around the island counter in the centre of the kitchen. He looked around the living room. He had taken a day off from Hokage work because Kushina had gone to the doctors. She insisted on Minato staying home, saying it was nothing, but he couldn't stop worrying. She had been throwing up little food she had been taking down, and was almost always tired. He had forced her to go down to the doctors office for a check. She had disagreed. But, in the end they compromised with her going down to the hospital, but Minato had to clean the whole house. He had finished the cleaning with no sight of the slightest speck of dust. He sat down on the couch and grabbed and old photo album he and Kushina had made a while back. Flipping through the pages, he saw their old photo on one of the pages. He slid it out of the casing and stared at it for a while. Kushina's happiness almost seeping out of the photo. Sliding it back in the plastic casing. He sighed.
"Damn it, I wish she'd just come home and tell me what's wrong". He flipped through all the pictures. Stopping only to glance at the door. Half expecting Kushina to burst through. He placed the photo album back in its place and paced the living room.

" Hah... hah... run faster Kushina!" Kushina scolded herself.
Panting like a dog, she was still running up the stairs. She stopped running.
"Dumbass!!" She created the seal of the monkey and Kushina disappeared in a puff of smoke. A muffled pop rang through the air for a second. Kushina, now at the top at the steps, glanced down back at the steps  to see how far she would have had left to run up. She had six steps she could've taken to get to the top. Damn idiot. Losing focus, she scampered towards the door she hesitantly grabbed the handle, as though she was contemplating whether to go through with what she was doing. Taking a breath in through her nose, she calmly opened the door, seeing minato on their cream colored couch. As he had promised, the whole house was clean and the dishes were all clean and put away
Minato, still on the couch, had great posture, as any shinobi should. Staring at a closed, dusty photo album on his lap. She stopped moving, her legs screaming for the much needed rest. Minato started to stand, his lean muscles could be seen rippling under his black Anbu style pants. She smiled. Racing forward, much to the disapproval of her muscles, she grabbed his face. Kissing him, full on the lips, she let her emotions be known through the movement of her lips and her body. He seemed appalled for a split second, but then immediately kissing back. The two young adults broke their kiss and Kushina hugged him. Minato was aghast.
"Hey, Kushina. Weren't you mad at me for making you go to the hospital?" Minato's voice whispered into her ear, since they were still hugging.
"Yeah. But I'm thanking you for that now." the red haired beauty answered. Minato looked at her, concern flowing freely in his eyes, breaking the shinobi rule of not showing your emotions.
"Are you ok? Is something wrong?" He grabbed her shoulders and looked into her big violet blue eyes.
"Nothing's wrong." she said
A sigh of relief made its way out of Minato's mouth. He smirked, then what's got you in such a good mood, my sweet tomato?" he teased, knowing she would get angry at the use of her old nickname.
"Don't call me that! You know I don't like my hair!" she whined. A strand of her hair falling in front of her face.
"Yeah, but I love your hair, so don't ever cut it. You shouldn't care so much about the color of your hair, you have no control over that. You are THE red death, a feared person among the great nations. Your hair is the most beautiful thing that makes you who you are." he whispered. A smirk still fazed over his lips.

"Minato?"
"Yes?"
"I-I-m. I'm." she stuttered. Tears so close to falling down her face. Minato placed both of his hands over her cheeks and turned her face to his.
"Tell me. I promise I will never, ever get mad. I could never get mad at you. ''I love you." Konoha's future Hokage said in a commanding tone. A tone he only used in certain times.
"Minato," Kushina cried, letting the tears fall freely down her face.
One.
Two, three.
Four.
...
Nine.
Nine tears fell before Kushina spoke once more.
"Minato, I'm pregnant." she whispered just loud enough for the blond man to hear.
"Oh thank god," he took a strong breath out.
"What? Wouldn't you be mad?" Kushina cautiously prodded.
"Why should I be mad?" Minato hugged Kushina again, stroking her red hair. "You just made me the happiest man alive. You gave me a family" he sighed.
"Sometimes you seem so dense, why would I ever be mad at you. I love you." he broke the hug and looked at Kushina.
Kushina looked down, and dried her tears. Light giggles making their way up the sore throat from her crying.
"I love you, too"
