"Don't worry, i don't want to kill you."

Mina mumbled, almost cheerfully. The boy looked taken aback.

"it's just this one boy that, uh, needs to die, according to my head." Mina continued, not doing herself any favours. The boy was still shocked.

"That was weird, i'm sorry," mina apologised quietly, regretting everything that had left her mouth in the past five minutes. She went to walk away, considering running for the door.

"That's okay. It's just weird that you're aiming to murder just one person, but don't feel overly worried by it." The boy spoke. Mina turned back and shrugged.

"I am worried by it, and it's bad enough when... uh, i get the attacks, i guess you could call them. I'm just glad im not like that all the time." mina whispered. The boy looked sorry for her. His small group of friends has slowly dispersed during their conversation, obviously not wanting anything to do with the crazy girl.

"Yeah." he mumbled. He looked sympathetic. "I'm Ashton, by the way,"

"Mina," she smiled at him, sitting down opposite. "And why are you here, Ashton? if you don't mind me asking,"

"Uh. It's hard to talk about,"

"I get it. That's okay," mina said. She played with the sleeves on her shirt. She didn't know what to do with them, she didn't know how to act. She wanted to place her hand over his in a sympathetic way or something, but that would be weird.

"Yeah," he whispered.

It was quiet between them for a little while; Mina wanted the ground to swallow her whole. Despite this, she was enjoying looking at Ashton as he arranged and rearranged the order the bracelets on his wrist were in. He looked sad. And Mina didn't enjoy that he was sad; she just enjoyed studying him and working out why. His hair was messy and curly like hers, and she'd seen soft indentations of dimples in both cheeks when he had smiled at her as he introduced himself. His hands were huge, but gentle-looking. His eyes were welcoming, and his voice was soft. He looked like the kind of guy that was happy and peaceful and had a bubbly laugh and make anyone smile. But the dark circles under his eyes and the way his collar bones were a little too visible and sharp and how his cheeks were a little sunken in suggested otherwise.

She wanted to ask if he was okay.

"Mina?" he asked, lifting his eye-line to hers. She looked up at him.

Of course he's not okay, she inwardly told herself. Otherwise, he wouldn't be here.

"Do you feel uncontrollable? when you get the attacks you mentioned?" He cocked his head to the side like he was trying to figure something out. He looked like an adorable puppy. Mina nodded slowly.

"When do you get the attacks?" ashton asked slowly.

"When i see the boy i want to kill, mostly. But I used to get them before i met him in person, but he'd always come to my head beforehand- i don't know how or why, i didn't know him- and then they'd happen." mina sighed. She felt shaky and scared talking about it, the last thing she wanted was to have a fit in front of Ashton.

"he's called Michael by the way- but it's weird because i didn't go into an attack immediately last time i saw him. We had a conversation, then he made me angry."

Ashton nodded slowly, as if considering something. He then looked at Mina, his expression hard to read.

"I had a-..." He paused. "Friend..." he said, almost questioningly, like he was wondering if friend was the right term or not. he used it anyway.

"I had a friend that had what you have, i think." he whispered.
