i'm watching
watching my life rapidly rise in flames
i can't see my future from here
deafening screams are silenced by the licking flames
tears escaping my eyes won't help drown the flames
nothing can help, it said
i forcefully shut my eyes closed and wish everything to go away
minutes pass but darkness remains
sounds of my uneven breathing and pounding heart is all my ears could muster
curious eyes reveal that the fire has swallowed me whole
just lay down, it insisted
a sudden force is tugging at my eyelids
i could feel my last breath inching near me
my time has come
at last i can rest
