I jumped out of bed as if it was on fire, and ran down to the adoption room where the parent will judge the child to see if they really want to adopt them. And as I entered the room I saw the owner of the orphanage speaking to Bruce Wayne himself, with what seemed to be his butler standing in the corner of the room.

"Y/n! Go get something appropriate on!" The orphanage owner demanded as they pointed to my pajama pants, which where the only thing I was wearing.

"It's okay Miss, if he feels comfortable then he shouldn't need to change" Bruce said as he took a sip from a coffee mug.

I quickly ran back to my room and changed into the first thing I saw. I then returned to the interview room. The butler began to laugh a little while Bruce Wayne had a smile on his face, but the orphanage owner didn't like the clothing that I had rushed into because as I looked down, I noticed that I was wearing a shirt which had a Superman logo, a pair of baggy, gold glimmering pants and an old vest that I used to wear for work that looked like one that was taken straight off the butler and shrunk down onto me.

I nervously laughed as I went back and got into some actual clothes.

The room was pretty quiet as I entered wearing some more casual clothes. It wasn't a bad silence though because Bruce was reading through some documents that have kept record of my behavior recently and what I liked and disliked, he then passed them to the butler for him to read through as well.

"So Y/n, would you like to live with Mister Wayne here?" The orphanage owner asked as they passed a pen over to me with a piece of paper which already had Bruce Wayne written down.

"Y-Yeah I'd love too, but if I'm getting the Wayne name then I want my current last name to be my new middle name" I stated after reading over the paper to validate it.

"I think we can arrange that, right Miss?" Bruce asked as he looked over at the owner.

"Definitely, it'd mean that we'd have to rewrite the papers but if Mr. Wayne is free at the end of the week then you can take Y/n home, he will need time to pack anyway so its for the best" She answered while picking up the papers off the table.

"Alright, I'll get Alfred here to pick you up by the end of the week. You better be ready" Bruce said as he left with his butler, Alfred.

I could only nod as I squealed to myself and ran to my room, I began packing immediately. I then found an old wallet that I lost weeks ago which had almost two months worth of pay in it. So I decided that today I'll treat myself and pack tomorrow.

I walk through Gotham as I look at the grey sky, I then finally found a decent looking cafe, which is hard to find in Gotham.

I walk in and sit at the bar, the waitress happily skipped over with a smile on her face.

"What can I get for ya cutie?" She asked as she pulled out a notepad and pen.

I could barely speak a word as I looked at her beautiful, pale white skin and blonde hair which managed to sway around with barely any wind in the room. As well as her delightful aura that seemed to make anyone around her feel happy.

"Come on puddin, stop gawking start talking" She asked again with a small laugh.

"Oh yeah! sorry! Um... I'll have the most expensive dessert you have. As well as a cola" I asked as I looked at the menu behind her, mainly because looking at her made me blush.

"Double sundae delight and cola comin right up!" She said as she gracefully walked off to the kitchen in the back of the cafe.

I looked at the back of the delightful place to see a television was set up in the corner, it was showing some recent news of Gotham.

"In other news, Gotham's Bruce Wayne was seen at the adoption center today. We don't know which lucky kid is going to live with the billionaire playboy this time but lets hope he doesn't go missing like some of the past ones" The news presenter stated, I gulped a bit as I looked back to the bar counter.

To my surprise there was a sundae and cola can sitting in-front of me, I looked up to see the beautiful waitress from before.

"That'll be $45 puddin" She pointed out to me, so I grabbed a fifty out of my pocket and passed it to her.

"Keep the change" I politely said as I smiled at her cheerfully.

"Oh, thanks!" She replied with happiness almost growing off her.

I looked at her name tag on her shirt to see the name 'Harlz'.

"I'm going to take a wild guess and say your name isn't actually Harlz?" I asked, pointing to the tag.

"Nah, it's Harle... Harleen Quinzel" She corrected with a bit of a forced smile.

"Well it's nice to meet you Quin, my name is Y/n, Y/n L/n. Or well Y/n Wayne in a week or so actually" I greeted with a nervous smile.

"Y/n Wayne?" Quin asked with a questioned expression.

I simply pointed to the television, which Quin watched for a moment before looking back at me.

"You're the new Wayne son?" Quin asked as she took a scoop of my sundae.

"Yup, I will most likely be" I said with a smile as I leaned back on the stool.

Quin and I chatted for a while as I ate the huge sundae, with her taking a spoonful every now and again.

"It's getting pretty late huh?" I asked Quin while looking at my phone.

"Yeah, I should start closing up shop for the night then" Quin answered while wiping down the counters and tables.

I walked over to her and grabbed the towel off of her.

"I'll help, if we both clean up then you can get home before it gets too dark. We all know Gotham at night is the most dangerous place on Earth" I stated while wiping down the rest of the tables. Quin thanked me as she went into the kitchen to wash the left over dishes.

"Y/n! I'm being picked up and I think were done cleaning so do you need a ride home?" Quin asked as we both walked out of the cafe.

She started to lock the door as a shabby purple and green looking truck pulled up on the side walk.

"Nah, I can walk tonight. I need to lose the weight from your delightful sundae anyway" I said with a chuckle.

"Alright Y/n, if you stop by the cafe tomorrow I'll treat you to lunch" Quin replied with a wink as she got into the truck, which then sped off down the road.

"You know Harley, if the boss hears about this then he'll put you back on the 'medication'" A thug said to Harley.

"Yeah I know, but he won't find out" Harley grabbed the hidden knife from her boot and slit the thugs throat before taking the wheel of the truck and driving back the the carnival grounds.

I continued walking through the dark streets of Gotham and luckily got home without a scratch and with all my money.

I packed up the non-important stuff before heading to bed.

"I don't mind a free lunch" I said as I went to sleep with a small smile.
