Chapter 1- First day

Hello, whoever reads this! I am extremely excited and nervous to be posting the first chapter of my book! This book will become a sequel, be ready! "The assignment is complete." The doctor smiled enthusiastically at the expecting parents, but it vanished within seconds as he became serious for the rest of the conversation. "Since this surgery was performed you must take things easy the rest of the pregnancy. I will give you a list of strict rules you must follow to ensure nothing goes wrong" The doctor handed over a pamphlet that weighed more of a book in the hands of the new mother. She clenched it close to her heart while letting a tear slip down her cheek.

The doctor was still talking when the husbands' train of thought went to his wife. He knew his wife is memorizing everything the doctor is saying thus, giving him the chance to glance down at her. She looked like a true warrior with her stance strong, her face determined. He realized long before today that he would protect his family, but standing here with such a strong-minded woman, his will of protection grew and embraced her tightly. He would lay down his mortal life any day for his wife and child. He placed his arm tightly around his wife's waist and pulled her closer. The tingle he felt from her touch ran up his arm and throughout his whole body making sense of calmness pass through. Heaven really paired him with a perfect soulmate. His wife looked up at him with a tear rolling down her cheek which pained him to see even when the tear is from true happiness one day it will be due to fear. He slowly raised his hand wipe the tear away sending more tingles through them both. They smiled at each other and looked back at the doctor who has not stopped talking.

"I will also lay out the payments and appointments needed for the next 18 years to make sure the scares heal accordingly. This baby cannot be seen by any normal doctors because the machines will detect abnormality from your child" He points at the mother's stomach, she subconsciously places possessive hand over the area. "The rate of growth will be about a month or so quicker than humans. We live about 2 hours away from one another but in case of emergency take this with you." He handed the husband a small machine that almost looked like a phone "It will make a hologram of myself ready to diagnose the problem. It will feel like I am there; it will also allow me to touch and lift light objects. This device cannot be replaced. Be extremely careful with it. Once you are a week away from delivering you will come back here to deliver. After the child is a year old, that is when you will be able to see a normal doctor if needed, but I will still be the primary doctor."

The doctor continues to speak, but the wife was more focused on feeling the living being inside her. Even though her child cannot kick yet, she can still sense its presence, and if she focused on the embryo completely, she could hear its tiny heartbeat, as well as the little movements that cannot be detected by feeling. Only her husband and she could listen to their baby perfectly. A smile appeared on her lips as she listens to the squirming making its heartbeat speed up. Her smile grew larger as she leaned in closer to her husband who's also smiling. They looked up at each other again before being pulled back into what the doctor was explaining.As the doctor rambled on about rules and restrictions, the husband focus was pulled to the nagging feeling in his mind. This betrayal will haunt his wife and himself for eternity. This wasn't their purpose, they were fighters yet here they are breaking all laws just to feel human, to have true happiness, to have their child.

"Now everything I said, and more is within the pamphlet I handed you. The next couple of months will be tough. You will feel your body try over and over to reject the pregnancy meaning you will be sick frequently. You must focus your strength towards placing a protective shield around the fetus I also will supply you with pills that whenever you think it's becoming unbearable take one and then it will supply energy to you. It will help you focus on placing the shield around the baby. If the shield is not in place the moments your body tries to reject, then the pregnancy will be rejected, and you will not be able to do the procedure again. This is a plethora of information to take in, but the rejection process will only happen strongly during months 5 through delivery. That is because I placed a strengthening shield already around the embryo meaning, there is already the pill substance in the amniotic sack. This is a large dose, it makes it, that you don't even notice that right now your energy is focused mainly on the shield. Therefore, you cannot drain that energy by doing anything that a normal person can't do. Even the simplest things like mind linking you will have to refrain from doing." The doctor paused to inhale a large amount of air, "If there are no questions then you are ready to leave. I am hoping this will work for both of us. Unfortunately, I have not had any of my patients survive a year. There are two others right now who are edging closer to delivery though failure has already started, I am hoping for success. Thank you both for trusting in me. If we work as a team and do everything exactly what I say this will work." He finally broke out of the serious face he held the whole time and into a smile.
