c h a p t e r f o u r t e e n

Start from the beginning

And now I have it.

The next thing happened very quickly.

As if it was waiting for its turn impatiently and finally was able to make itself known.

This time, it was a comforting warmth that sends tingles throughout my body.

Strong arms held me.

I felt the heaviness of my lids as if they weren't opened for a long time.

And maybe they weren't, but I didn't care at the moment.

And then I opened them.

The first thing my eyes saw, a vision I will never forget.

The name of the man I uttered the name of last before slipping into the unknown looked upon me.

I have never seen his eyes glow as bright as they were now, and I meant it this time.

The blue in them reminded me of the Carribean oceans on the sunniest day, and the green reminded me of the beautiful kelp.

As if the sun has managed to hide behind those eyes, but still shined through.

A tear rolled down his sun-kissed cheek and landed on mine.

The salt water decorated my cheeks, and it was that what I wanted at the moment.

The feeling of a tear.

Nothing else.

"Storm.."

My voice, raspy, showing me that I haven't used it in a long time.

No other words were exchanged.

Storm breathed out a sigh of relief and embraced me.

One of his hands got into my hair and played with it.

" You're alive.." he whispered out.

His head was in the space between my head and shoulder.

My hands cupped his face and I tilted his head upwards.

Tears still streamed down his face and his eyes excluded so much relief.

" I was so scared, Aria," he confessed.

I hugged him and comforted him.

He couldn't stop touching me.

His hand touched my face, mouth, arms, hands.

Anything that could convince him that I was there.

Alive.

But his hand was shaking, and that almost brought me to tears.

As if he was too scared to break me.

" What happened, Storm," I asked.

He held me in my arms as if he didn't hear anything.

His arms slightly tightened around me but he didn't meet my eyes.

And that's when everything came back.

I shivered.

The woman who was angry.

The woman who tried to kill me.

" Storm, who was she?"

He stiffened in my arms.

" Her name is Morfia. I escaped our engagement," he said.

My mouth hung open.

" You mean she's a..." I couldn't finish my sentence.

He nodded.
