       L laid his eyes on you, and Light took note that L's eyes lightened up a bit. "Not at all, welcome A, please take a seat", he said patting the spot next to him. You smiled and went to him, handing him the sweets, " A gift from J and I", you said before turning seriously with an emotionless glare at the other boy. "You must Light Yagami". He nodded, "I take it you're A", he said. You nodded and sat the way L does, "That assumption would be correct but don't get your hopes up, it's not my real name". He raised his eyebrow but showed no signs of guilt, interesting.  "Now L, you say you have nothing to prove that he is Kira, right?", you asked. He nodded, "Though there are a few leads", he said. "Well the search was narrowed down a ton when Kira killed the newscaster and not to mention the fact that Kira needed to be able to access police intel, so the person either was a police officer or the son/daughter of one", you said putting your thumb to your mouth while you think, "The only thing standing in between your condemnation is mystery of how you kill your victims and the sly way you've been able to avoid being caught in the act". Light narrowed his eyes and you heard L give a low chuckle. "You both are wrong, I want to find Kira and make him pay", Light said causing you to smile. "You're so passionate about covering your tracks Mr Yagami. Though, 98% of the evidence points to you so I will not be regarding you as an innocent. Do you want to know a fun fact?", you said as you grabbed a small cupcake. "Sure, I guess", he said looking at you seriously. "My eyes, they're special even though they look normal. I can tell when a person is filled with blood lust and evil and when they are innocent, and you ", you said pointing to him, "Have immense blood lust towards L and I, however, if you're Kira you cannot kill us because it would give your position away ". He seemed moved and let out a gasp, perking L's attention. A smirk appeared on your face, "Now I know it's not an ability in you because you need a name, so it is a process. You can kill anyone in the world but need their name and face, this takes out the idea of a sniper or assassin being used", you said, "it might as well be supernatural". Light's breathing sped up a little bit as you stared him dead in the eye, he gripped his fists, "How Dare YOU! I AM NOT KIRA, I'M AGAINST HIM, WHY AM I GETTING PRESSURED FOR SOMETHING I didn't do!", Light yelled standing up. You and L both tensed but L stood up infront of you, "Compose yourself Light, she was merely stating facts", he said in a monotone voice. He growled but composed himself, "Excuse me for a minute", he said walking out. You finished your treat, "There is no way he isn't Kira", you said passing L a sweet treat as he sat back down next to you. "That's what I had concluded however, we still need concrete evidence", he said before nomming on the treat, "On another note (HAH), how have you been?", he asked looking at you. "I've been alright, but it's not as fun without my trusty partner", you said smiling as you playfully elbowed him, "What about you?". He smiled a little, "I've been well, though this Kira case is dragging on for a while, I'd rather it be over", he said giving you the other half of what he was eating. You knew there were other treats but the fact that L was SHARING the treat was special. You gently took it and smiled eating it, "Thanks", you said, trying to restrain your cheeks from getting red. It grew silent before L spoke again, "I heard about what happened with you in America", he said. Your eyes grew dark, people at the agency never knew how to keep their damn mouth shut, "It's in the past, I'm alright", you said, though the truth was that you were not okay. L knew this, "You're lying". You sighed and let out a chuckle, "You know me well", you said, "I'm healing well, that wasn't a lie". "Apologies for not being there, taking down the number one most wanted serial killer in the US was not a job you should have done alone", he said sighing. He was only emotional with you and Watari, but it made you feel giddy to see that he truly cared for you. You were hesitant but you put your hand on his, "Don't hold onto it any longer L, let's not worry on past events", you said calmly. 

          He nodded and looked away. You thought you had made him uncomfortable by putting your hand on his. In reality, he turned because he felt his face get hot, and didn't want to embarrass himself. You removed your hand and went to grab another small cake, "Apologies", you said blushing and grabbing another sweet. "I can't", he said quietly while looking down. "Hm?", you asked. "Kira will kill any of my friends, anyone I hold dear to me", he explained, "I cannot let that happen". "What are you saying?", you asked in slight concern. "You need to go, it was a mistake to bring you here", he said, still not looking at you. "I will not run", you said. "Gah, it was a mistake to bring you, why did I do that?", he spoke out loud, "He may have seen you already, you're in danger-", he kept on mumbling but you stopped him. You got up and kneeled so you could see his face while you grabbed both of his hands. You knew what was happening, he was having a panic attack. He had those from time to time when you both were in America. You saw tears fall down his face, now that was new for you, he never cried. "L Lawliet, in all my years of knowing you", you whispered as you lifting his face up. He closed his eyes in shame as more tears fell, "I'm sorry", he said. You moved his hair out of his face and held his face in your hands, wiping his tears with your thumb, "Hey... you have nothing to be sorry for L", you said sincerely. It broke your heart to see him like this. He stood silent, putting his hand on yours, " I don't want you to be taken away Y, n, I can't lose anyone else", he whispered. "I won't ever. You didn't bring me into danger L, I chose to come because I care about you and I don't want you to be in danger either", you said calmly. You felt a pang of pain when he got emotional because he cared, he probably meant as just a friend right?. "Don't leave", he whispered, opening his eyes and staring right into yours. "I won't I promise", you answered, not breaking eye contact with him. His arms gently pulled you close to him without you paying much attention to him, because you were lost in his dark eyes. He hugged you tightly, burrowing his face in your shoulder. You instantly wrapped your arms around him, "It's going to be alright L", you said running your fingers through his hair gently. You could feel his heart beating fast. "I've never cared about anyone this much, you're special", he said quietly. You gasped a little, what did he mean?." L", you said moving away so you could see him face to face and only then could you see the blush on his face along with his tears. This shocked you,... did he really like you back? He was really vulnerable right now, you wiped his tears again and he leaned into your touch, "I.. I ", he started but you gathered up all your courage and moved your face close to his, your lips meeting gently. His lips were soft and smooth, you closed your eyes as you separated after a few seconds, dark blush appeared on your face. You forced yourself to open your eyes and saw L was staring at you, his face also red. "U-Uhm", you mumbled losing all your courage when you looked at him, "I let my emotions get the b-best of me, I'm sorry".  

     "I would... assume a kiss means your fond? of me?", he asked, his face still a light pink. You chuckled, "I'm surprised, you are a detective after all", you said smiling and looking down, "Yes, I'm extremely fond of you, and n-not in a brother-sister way". He sighed in relief, "I had thought that this was a one-sided feeling", he said, "Though I didn't quite understand what I was feeling exactly". "Wait, so you like me back? Seriously?", you asked. He nodded, "I would not joke about such a matter", he said. You couldn't help yourself, you started to giggle, "You have no idea how long I've been afraid to say anything", you said laughing. "Really?", he asked before flashing a small adorable smile. You nodded smiling, you then extended your hand towards him and he held it, gently, "You do understand that kira -", he started but you interrupted, "Kira can kiss my ass. He's not going to scare me away from you. I'll do what I need to", you said seriously. He smiled and it was the cutest thing I've ever, "Thank you", he said quietly. You put your hand back on his hand and smiled, "Let's beat him together, okay?", you said smiling.  He nodded, "I would...enjoy that very much", he said. You heard a noise outside f the door so you got up quickly and opened it to see Watari and Jarvis smiling, Watari was handing Jarvis 10 dollars. You figured it out, Jarvis knew about your feelings with L, he bet with Watari that you two would end up together. You shook your had and smiled before Light entered the room again. As you three chatted, you secretly held L's hand, enjoying his slightly rough but gentle hand. Your heart fell contempt and now you felt more determination to prove Light was Kira, anything to make sure L was safe and with you.
