Chapter eleven

Tris pov
4 years later

"So beautiful" Tobias says wrapping his arms around my waist as I look into the mirror in our room.

The past four years have been amazing for Tobias and I. We attend the same state college, moved into an apartment together, have been very loyal these past five years together.

I still can't believe Tobias and I are going on five years together. Our friend group has stayed the same and all the couples in it are still going strong.

Shaunna and Zeke are engaged. Marlene and Uriah are about to have a baby. Today is actually her baby shower so that's what we have planned today. Christina dates Will and they are very happy.

Life is just really good. In a few weeks we are all graduating college and starting our careers. I already have a job saved at a local school to become a teacher and Tobias is already in line to become a detective at our local police department.

"Thanks babe, It's pretty simple. I should probably change" I tell him and he shakes his head no.

"Keep it on. I love it" he says and I sigh turning around to face him. I wrap my arms around his neck and he leans into kiss me but I pull away before our lips touch.

"You're going to ruin my make up" I giggle and he groans pulling away.

"We should get going then" he says and I give him a smile, pecking his lips, grabbing his hand and walking us out of the room.

"I ordered these fake pregnant bellies so you girls could try them on and we could take pictures" Marlene says to Shaunna, Christina, and I.

Its just our group of friends left at her baby shower. All her family left. Its about 9 o'clock so we're all just hanging out.

"This is so cool" Christina says strapping hers onto her stomach and putting her shirt over it.

I put mine on in the bathroom because I had to undress a little in order for it to work and be covered by my pants suit.

I look into the mirror of their bathroom and smile down at the fake pregnant belly.

I can't wait to have children. Tobias and I never really talked about children but I'm sure he wants them. Tobias has told me he wants to marry me in the future and I kind of hope the future is soon because I love Tobias and I'm ready to marry him but he hasn't made an effort to ask so I guess we have to talk about that too. Maybe he doesn't even want to marry me.

I walk out of the bathroom and the girls wait for me outside the door. They all have their bellies and they giggle when they see me.

"Oh tris. You look so cute" Marlene says and I giggle

"Lets go show the guys" Shaunna says and we laugh walking to the living room where they are at.

They see us and their eyes go wide.

Tobias is siting on a small couch in the corner so I go over to him and sit on his lap. He chuckles when he sees me and wraps his arm around my waist pulling me close.

"What's this" He says poking my belly.

"It's a fake pregnant belly Marlene had us try on" I tell him

"For a second I thought you were pregnant" he chuckles

"That would've been a heart attack" he laughs again and I don't laugh at all. I just look at him seriously and he stops laughing once he realizes I'm not entertained.

"I know we've never talked about kids but I do want to have kids with you and I would really like to get married soon but it looks like you're thinking other wise" I say and he sighs

"Tris, of course I want those things but do I want them now... not so much. We have our whole lives to think about marriage and kids. Right now let's just live our lives to the fullest and worry about that another time. We are still young, how about we try for kids in our thirties" he says and I nod

"Okay" I whisper and he lifts my head to his

"You're not upset right" he says and I shake my head no

"No I get what you're saying" I say and he pecks my lips.

"Okay good" He says and I get off his lap.

"Tris, come let's take a picture" Marlene says inviting me over to them.

We snap a few pictures then we take our bellies off. Well not Marlene of course.

"Hey mar, do you have any alcohol? I could use a drink" I ask her and she runs to the kitchen and comes back with tequila, wine, and beers.

I grab the tequila and walk straight to the patio in the backyard.

Once we're out there, I twist the cap off and gulp a few sips down.

"Woah there. What is going on" Christina ask me as I take a seat in one of the chairs.

"Tobias wants to impregnate me when I'm like 39. Our kid is going to be going through puberty when we're going through the first stages of menopause." I quickly say and the girls laugh.

"Tris calm down. I'm sure he'll change his mind eventually" Shaunna says and I shake my head no.

"He's serious about this. I know he's excited about his career and where life is going to take him but what about my needs. I want to get married soon and start a family" I tell them

"I don't think I can wait for my thirties" I say

"The next time you have sex don't use a condom. Just try to make him forget to use one" Christina says and I giggle

"Firstly I can't do that, I'm pretty sure it's against the law and secondly I'm on birth control" I say

"Poke holes in all your condoms and stop taking your birth control. Easy as that" Marlene says

"I can't do that guys. It's so wrong" I say

"I just have to talk to him and let him know how I'm feeling. I'm sure we can compromise" I tell them and they nod.

"Don't rush the process. Just let life fall into place how it's meant to be" Christina says and I nod giving them smiles.
