"Tia, I'm here!"
I yelled from the bottom of the steps.
"Adelina, mi bebita!"  My aunt, Valencia, yelled in excitement, while running down the steps to hug me. She let go and looked me up and down
"Oh no, you're too grown. These little boys around here are gonna go crazy over you mija" 
"I'm not worried about these boys."
"Yeah but they're gonna be worried about you." She looked me up and down once again. "Lets get your bags to your room." We walked to my room, It was different form my room at my moms house in Brentwood but not much, just a little smaller and no bathroom but I didn't mind. It was a nice change but I like the vibe around here. I can be myself
"How's my sister been?"  My aunt asked about my mother
"She's been great, but I was holding her back I guess." 
"It's okay Bebita, she's always been a little... como se dice, egocentric."
"I know. I don't know why i thought it was a good idea to move in with her."
"Ay mama, I'm just glad you're back with me." She hugged me again.
"I'm gonna go out for a little bit, we can catch up later. Be safe and if you leave the house make sure you text me."
"I will tia."
"Alright bebita."  She said before walking out.
Once she left the house, I took a shower and changed the clothes I had on.

I went downstairs and searched the fridge for a water cause it's hot as fuck outside and a bitch gotta stay hydrated, then grabbed my key and walked out after telling my aunt I was leaving.
As I walked down the street, there were hella gang members, hella graffiti and hella guys tryna talk to me. I ignored all of them. I turned the corner and walked a little more before hearing a guy yell
"Tax time bitches! Hands up, money out"
I looked over and saw a boy with long hair in front of a group of kids with there hands up. I looked closer and realized who the boy with the hair was.
It was that lil annoying nigga Latrell. The boy might be cute but he's an idiot.
I walked across the street to them
"How can we take our money out with our hands up?" A shorter boy said, as I looked closer at the boy I realized it was ruby, we we've been family friends our whole lives but I haven't seen him in about two years since I moved.
"I know you book heads got that ba-"
"Latrell!" I yelled as I got closer
"The fuck is you?" He asked, he looked for a second before remembering who I was
"Aw shit, Addy? Fuck are you doin here."
"Addy?" Ruby whispered to himself
"Who's Addy?"  The curly haired girl asked him
"Why you out here robbin kids? Go in the house dumb ass." I stood in front of him
"Or what?" He asked
"Don't try me Latrell."
"Yeah whatever. I'll run y'all shit next time I see you." He mean mugged them then walked away
I turned to them "He won't bother y'all as long as he knows I'm around." 
"Adelina?" Ruby asked
"Yeah Rubes." We hugged "how've you been hermanito."
"I've been okay, how about you?"
"Same old shit. Different day."
"Who's your friend ruby?" The brownskin boy said, now trying to act cool as if he wasn't just about to cry in front of Latrell
"This is Adelina, she used to live around here about 2 years ago. She's like my big sister. Addy, this is Monse and Jamal."
"Nice to meet you guys."
"You too" they said
"Are you back with your tia?"  Ruby asked
"Yeah, I'm back in freeridge."
"How old are you now? 30?"
"No puto, I'm 18. Have you turned 10 yet?
"Yeah abuela, Im 14 now. Walk with us, we're going to my house" he said  before we began walking down the street
"So what's new?" I asked ruby
"Well, my brother moved out. Now I have my own room"

"What do you mean I don't have my own room, it's only been four hours!" Ruby yelled at his mom
"Abuelita's room is flooded from the washer, so she's gonna have to sleep in your room until we can dry it out." She responded
"You try renting a wet vac?"
"Hello" I said
"Ay mija!" Ruby's mom pulled me into a hug. Never had this many hugs in one day. "When did you get back?"
"This morning, I ran into ruby on the street."
"How was your moms?"
"It was good but I'm glad to be back. I need to keep an eye on our little rubix cube here."
"Dios mio, I'm leaving" ruby said
"I'll catch up with you later," I told her before giving one last hug and following ruby. We saw monse and Jamal in the distance and ran up to them.
"I'm not gonna hash shit out! To what end? Death?" Jamal yelled
"What's going on?" Ruby asked
"Monse wants me to talk to Cesar"
"Who's Cesar?" I asked
"Our ex" ruby replied
"He's not the same, he dumped us." Jamal said to monse
"Well I wasn't here so it's not official"  she said
"If someone breaks up with you over text is it official? Cause consider me the text. Ding! You've been dumped!"
She began walking towards to group of guys at the house in front of us
"Monse you can't. You're too... grown now. It's not safe."  Ruby said
"What ruby? Who gives a fuck. I'll go with you."
"Both of you!? Oh no this is not gonna go well." Jamal said as we walked away
We stood in front of what looked like a gang and probably was, considering where we live.
"I need to talk to you." Monse said
"I'm listening." The boy said
"Who's your friend?" The guy sitting next to him asked. We both just looked at him 
"Privately." Monse told the boy
"We can go inside,"
The guy next to him cleared his throat
"But if you wanna sit on my face you gotta put that mouth on pause so I can concentrate." Guys dapped him for his stupid ass comment
Monse stormed away
"cabeza de pene." I said before following monse
"Come back mami! Feisty ass hyna." A guy said
I ignored him
"Cesar is dead to us!" Monse yelled as we walked
"Yeah that was a dick move."
"Sit on my face? Who says that!?"
"Chairs who can talk. And buttholes!" Jamal said while running and rolling in the grass
"That was totally out of character. I'd expect that from Oscar but Cesar?" She said
"What are you doing?" Ruby asked Jamal who was now military crawling in the grass
"Getting in to character." He said before spraying his self with water
"Have you not told your dad you quit the football team?" Monse asked
"Say nothing" Jamal said "hey pops!"
"Hey son, how was practice?"
"I don't know, ask all of those D1 scouts that were all up on me."
This boy is something else
His dad laughed and dapped him
"That's my boy!" Then he walked back to his garden
"I'm gonna tell your dad if you don't drop the 411 on Cesar"
"Jamal don't do it." Ruby said
"No" Jamal said
"Mr. Tur-"
"Cesar said you let him hit it before you left for camp!"
Oh no
I turned to ruby
"Jamal!"
Monse stormed off
"You can't keep one secret!" Ruby yelled
"She blackmailed me!"
