Chapter 1 - Hope's Peak Academy

"School?!" you spat.

"You heard me"

"B-But dad! What about homeschool?"

"It'll all change next Monday"

"School..?" you whispered to yourself.

Flashes of images from middle school appeared in your head. You shivered.

This can not be possible.

"Don't worry [your name] your friend since kindergarten is attending Hope's Peak with you, now what was his name? Togami Byakuya?"

"T-Togami?!" you stood up from your seat. "Um, I-I think I'll sleep in early, night dad"

You rushed up the stairs went inside your room and locked the door.

You lay yourself on your bed and closed your eyes.

You remembered the reason of why you started homeschool perfectly.

Too perfectly.

It was valentines day. Your very favorite day.

You woke up early. Even though you stayed up all night making the perfect chocolate, it was all worth it.

And that's all because of him.

Your life in middle school wasn't perfect. Heck, it was pathetic, sad, and miserable.

Everyone thought you were the oddball and they picked on you easily.

You were the easy target. Shy, scared, and helpless.

But no, he was different from the rest.

Handsome, tall, funny, nice. He was everything to you.

You've known him all your life. And as the years passed you've started to develop feelings for him.

And on that very day, everything shattered into pieces.

You started to walk up to him only to find him playing around with his new girlfriend.

He turned to you and smiled.

"Good morning [your name]!"

You stared at him. Then you ran.

"How pathetic" you thought to yourself. "All these years! And for what? Stupid! You should've known better!"

The next couple of months was hell.

With Togami busy joking and flirting around with his girlfriend nobody was there to help you.

"Why do you still come here anyway?"

"You're just wasting your time!"

"Ick! You're stinking up the place!"

"Ew! Go away!"

"Do you even try?!"

It was all hurting you.

All those words were killing you slowly like knives piercing through your heart.

But he was watching you quietly. Looking at you from afar, and he didn't do anything.

You slowly opened your eyes.

It was 5 o'clock in the morning.

"Unforgivable" you whispered with tears filling up your eyes.

Monday soon arrived.

You stared up at the grand iron gate.

"Pretty fancy for a school" you mumbled.

You went inside.

First stop, to the headmaster's office.

The headmaster was kind to you and he showed you around the school.

But finally it was time to introduce yourself in front of your new classmates.

You looked at the door in front of you. The headmaster had gone back to his office.

You're all alone.

You slowly knocked on the door.

A teacher opened it (please imagine monokuma as a human being and not a bear ^^) and smiled.

"Class, it appears our new student is here. Please introduce yourself" he announced.

There weren't many students there. 16 students or so were staring at you.

"My name is [your name] nice to meet you all" you introduced yourself.

At the sound of your name a blonde student's eyes grew twice their normal size.

"Togami-kun.." you said under your breath. "Crud.."

"Any questions for [your name]?" the teacher asked.

A brown haired boy raised his hands.

"Naegi" the teacher called out.

"Ah um... what school are you from?"

"I was homeschooled before this"

"Thank you" the boy said and sat back down.

A few other students asked a lot of questions like "what's your favorite type of music" or "do you use any computer programs?"

You answered each one with a smile on your face.

Now, everyone has asked a question, except for the devil himself.

"Togami would you like to ask [your name] a question?"

The boy looked at his desk.

"Humph I wouldn't count on it"

Your cheeks turned red with fury.

"No way" you thought. "Is he for real?!"

"Oh, well then. [Your name] You may have a seat next to Naegi" the teacher turned to the white board. "Okay class we will continue yesterday's lesson.."

You took a seat next to the brown haired boy from earlier.

"Dangit!" you thought as you realize you'll be sitting right in front of the devil.

"Ahaha! Nice to meet you! I hope we can get together well!" Naegi smiled.

You took a side glance at Togami only to see he was glaring at you.

"Hmm me too" you smiled back.
