"We are here." Jake announced, and everyone started to pile out of the car expect for Colby and I.
"Are you not going to open the door so we can get out?" I asked Colby, confused as to why we are still in the car.
A smirk appeared on his face, "I kind like this position we are in, don't you?" He asked me, causing my cheeks to turn a rosie color.
I knew I can't let him see how much he affects me, so I need to change my attitude and play him at his own game.
"Hmm, I kind of do too." I played along
He gently grabbed a piece of my soft hair and twisted it with his fingers, "You know, I kind of have a thing for lavender." He smirked, causing me to bite down on my buttom lip.
He gently brushed his thumb against my full lips, causing a spark to erupt inside of me. Our heavenly eyes met each other again before he leaned in, hoping I would meet him halfway.
"Well, keep having that thing." I whispered, causing his eyes to flutter open.
"Such a tease." He grinned, his eyes dancing from my eyes to my lips.
I gave him a wink, "Fuck." He mumbled to himself as he watched me walk away from him, leaving him all alone with his thoughts and feelings, something he hated.
"What were you guys doing back there?" Corey questioned me.
"Nothing." I lied, cause I could feel Jake staring at me with pure anger in his dark eyes.
But no one was buying it, "Come on, guys. I would never." I fake gasped at the thought of them thinking that I would actually do anything with Colby.
"I mean you could feel the sexual tension in the car." Sam said, causing my eyes to widen.
"More like an annoyed tension." I corrected him, shaking off his comment.
"Nope." Aaron chime in with laughter leaking from his voice.
Suddenly I was being dragged into the parking lot by my best friend.
"Owe, Jake." I hissed at him, because his grip around my wrist was too tight.
He towered over me, "Atmosphere, we talked about this." He growled.
"I know." I sighed, "But, trust me. I'm just having fun, nothing else." I reassured him, but I knew that he didn't believe me, and that I didn't believe myself either.
"Fine, but remember you can't play a player at his own game." He reminded me.
My eyes meet his, "Who said I was playing his game." I smirked, causing him to give me a look.
"Oh no." He mumbled.
A giggle left my lips, "Jake, I'm kidding." I reassured him again, even though I didn't believe it myself. "Trust me, I'm not gonna fall for his tricks nor am I gonna put up with them either."
"Okay." He sighed in defeat before pulling me into a tight hug.
"Here." Aaron said as he handed Jake his food while the rest of the group made their way outside of the building as well.
"Thanks." Jake mumbled as he gladly took it, "Okay, let's go get your food and then head back home."
"So, is your guy's place really haunted?" I asked them, hoping they would answer 'no.'
Everyone gave each other a look before turning to Sam, "Ask him." They all said at the same time.
Sam quickly put his hands up in defense, "Woah, why me?" He questioned them.
"I mean, who was the one who made us all do those three am challenges." Colby said, causing my eyes to wander down to him.
A nervous laugh left Sam's thin lips, "Oh yeah, my bad." He whispered.
"Oo, do we have stories to tell you." Jake beamed.
"I'm probably not gonna sleep for awhile, am I?" I asked, with a small sigh at the end of my question.
"Nope." Corey said.
"Oh, great." I mumbled into my hand.
"It's okay, Atmosphere. I will be able to protect you from the ghosts." Colby reassured as he rested his left hand on my upper thigh.
My eyes wander down to the odd placement of his hand that was on my thigh, and even though part of me did feel butterflies for it, the other part of me wanted to break every single finger of his.
"I hope they get to you first." I hissed through my teeth, causing the rest of them to burst out into fits of laughter.
"Dang Colby, how do you feel about that?" Sam questioned his best friend.
Colby slowly retrieved his hand from my thigh and loosen his grip around my waist, "Nothing really, it's whatever." He mumbled, "Just don't come crying to me when they try to get you." He growled at me.
I rolled my eyes at him, "I won't, trust me."
Oh boy, was I wrong about that.
