I put my fork down

Tears welled into my eyes as I excused myself from the table and ran up to my room. Now I'm beginning to think that I should run away again and go halfway across the world.
Knock knock
" honey, its mom "
" I don't want to talk to anyone right now "
" I know and I'm sorry your in this situation, your father is very stubborn "
" he can't even be compared to a mule "
She chucked
" I'm going to let you in on a little secret, dear " she whispered " your father and my marriage was arranged too"
I looked at her with wide eyes

She laughed
" if you get to know him from now it won't be a problem later, " she said wisely
I sighed, maybe she's right, maybe I should get to know him now then it will be a lot easier when we get married because clearly, I can't run away from this arranged marriage thing
I called Ava to come over to get ready for the party. We were getting dressed while I fill her in on what she has missed. I wore a black dress.

I grabbed my purse on we were on out way
As we walked down the stairs, everyone was looking at us. The house was beautifully decorated, dad went all out. There were so many people.
We socialized for an hour or so, then father called us on stage.
"As you, all may know we have come here to celebrate the joining of the two families through marriage, " dad said " Alex would like to say something to his darling fiance "
"I'm truly happy that you have made me the happiest man on earth by agreeing to be my wife. You don't know how happy I am, words can even explain. So to seal this thing I want to give you this "
