Day Dreamer

Dinner was awkward, to put it mildly.

I kept to myself, watching Jason and Leo tell funny stories while Piper and Annabeth talked about their business.

My favorite person to watch was Nico, though. His fingers traced over the napkin on his lap or zoning out.

My little day dreamer.

Calypso was batting her lashes at me while lacing her fingers around Leo's.

Annabeth interrupted everyone by standing up with her phone to her ear.

"You're here?" She ran out to the front.

Jason looked at me and laughed.

"Meeting your replacement already. Are you ready?" He giggled.

I rolled my eyes and pulled Nico's chair closer.

"I'm glad she's moving on," I stated, putting my arm around Nico.

Piper rolled her eyes and turned to Calypso.

"I've met him. Luke isn't that bad, but she could've done better." She whispered loudly.

Annabeth returned to our table with a guy trailing behind her.

He had blonde hair like Jason's, but with slightly darker eyes than Octavian's.

My blood boiled at the thought of that fucker and I instinctively pulled Nico closer, probably pissing off some homophobes.

I suppose Annabeth took my tensing up as some reaction to meeting her new boyfriend since she just smirked at me and kissed his cheek.

"Luke, you know Piper. That's her boyfriend, Jason. That's Leo and Calypso." She turned to me. "And that's Percy and his boyfriend."

Luke shook everyone's hand and surprised Annabeth by winking at Nico.

This guy cannot be trusted.

I took Nico's hand and laced our fingers together.

He leaned his head on my shoulder and I ignored the dirty looks from Annabeth.

"I gave Luke a blowjob in public once," She bragged loudly, causing our friends plus Luke to become very uncomfortable with the situation.

I smirked at her.

"Sounds like something you would do."

She nearly hissed at me, but Luke pulled her in for a kiss.

She calmed down and rolled her eyes at Nico.

I cleared my throat.

"You guys ready to order?" I asked, trying to break the tension.

Jason nodded quickly, scanning the menu.

"I think I'll have the steak."

The food was beyond delicious and beyond expensive.

Nico and I paid as soon as we could and made a quick exit, saying a general goodbye (or a small wave in Nico's case).

I laughed as we made it outside.

"That was so awkward!" I exclaimed.

Nico took my hand and swung them around.

I grinned and twirled him.

He had a huge smile on his face.

I pulled my phone out and pulled him close.

"Let's take a picture, yeah?" I asked quietly.
