Chase said decidedly.
"We should wait for Karolina."
There was the stupid jealously in her chest.
She shouldn't feel like that. Chase wasn't hers.
"Maybe she's not coming."
Gert responded, crossing her arms.
The fact that Gert was jealous too made Marina feel slightly less petty.
And just like that, the blonde jogged up.
"Hey, guys, sorry!"
She called, as she struggled to move quickly across the sand.
"You have to see this."
She held out her phone, revealing a picture of the girl from the night before, in front of Big Ben.

"Holy shit."
Wilder uttered.
"Is that?"
"It's her."
Marina scrubbed her hand across her face.
"So what does this mean?"
She asked.
"Means I could've slept in."
Chase groaned.
And by I you mean we.
Marina thought.
"See? Destiny is fine. We don't have to worry."
Karolina said excitedly.
"Uh, Photoshopped much? This picture could be a total fake."
Nico said pessimistically.
"I know you want to believe, but this just isn't proof to me."
Karolina frowned, so did Marina.
Who knew what was true anymore?
"My mom seemed fine this morning."
Karolina argued.
"She wouldn't have acted so normal if she'd killed a parishioner last night."
"Most serial killers are completely devoid of empathy."
Nico's statement caused Marina to choke.
"Serial killers?"
Their parents are SERIAL KILLERS?
"This is more ritualistic killing type of thing."
Chase argued, causing Marina to lean on the picnic table for support.
"Maybe we should consider a LARPing scenario."
Everyone stared at Gert.
"Live-action roleplay?"
Chase still seemed confused.
"Is that where people dress up like cute animals and have sex?"
"That's furries."
Marina groaned.
"That's a thing?"
Molly asked, horrified.
"Look guys, there's an easier way to get to the bottom of this. We do some P. I. work and let cooler heads prevail. Hopefully in a couple hours we know that our parents are just weird, and not killers."
