Marina awoke the next morning to the sound of a shower running.

Further investigation showed she was still in Chase Stein's bed, and sunlight was trickling into his room through the drapes.

She mentally swore, hoping her mom wasn't awake yet.

She relunctantly pulled herself out the soft bed, and slid open the balcony door.

She peaked into the kitchen of the huge mansion, and saw no one.

Seeing as she wouldn't have a better chance, she made a mad dash for the property line.

Some sneaking later she managed to clamour into her bedroom window.

She swiped her phone from her desk, seeing a few notifications and a text from Alex.

Meet at our spot on the beach.

-Alex.

She never understood why he bothered with the text signature.

She sent Chase a text asking for a ride, hoping he'd see it before he left.

She changed into denim shorts, and a ripped Journey shirt, applying a little makeup to cover her dark circles.

She heard a horn honk out side, and glanced out her window to see Chase's car in the drive of her tiny house.

She slipped on some sneakers, grabbed her necessities and ran out the door.

Her Mother's car was gone, so she must have already left for the market.

"Hey."

Chase greeted as she slid into his sports car.

"Hey. What do you think Wilder wants? Maybe he found something out?"

Chase sighed, pulling out into the street far too fast.

"I hope so."

"Yo, Gert, wait up!"

Chase called, jogging to catch up with Gert and Molly.

"Yo, yourself."

Gert said nervously, tucking her hair behind her ears.

It took Marina a few more seconds to catch up, and Gert shot her an annoyed look.

"God, I guess lacrosse players run more than I thought."

Marina wheezed.

"Morning, Molly. Gert."

She added, sweeping her hair into a messy bun.

"Good morning."

Molly said with a smile.

They joined Nico and Alex at a picnic table.

Marina thought Nico's cardigan looked badass, flowing in the wind like a cape.

"Hey."

Chase said awkwardly, glancing around for their missing person.

"Hey."

Alex responded.

"Let's just get this over with."

Nico groaned.

Obviously a day at the beach wasn't her idea of fun.

Marina kicked off her shoes, burrying her toes in the sand.

"It's five out of six. We do have a quorum."

Alex said.

Marina rolled her eyes, irritated that he'd disregarded her, due to her parents.
