(Cameron’s POV)
It was like any other day in Valdosta, Georgia. Humid, not knowing how the weather was going to turn out. I wore my usual t-shirt, jeans, and a pair of black low-top converse. Grandma was still sleeping, store didn’t open until 10 a.m., so I had plenty of time until I needed to head out. Heading to the fridge to find some breakfast, I noticed the list of supplies we needed stuck to the fridge. There wasn’t a lot on the list and would be a quick pick up. I decided to head to Lowes after I finished making me and grandma breakfast. Grabbing the skillet I decided to make us avocado toast with poached eggs. I woke my grandmother lightly to tell her I was heading to the store and was going to pick up the supplies we needed. She gave me a light peck on the cheek and said she’d be at the store as soon as she can. With how sick she has been getting lately, I would rather her just stay in bed, but I said nothing and just headed out.
*Time Skip*
I pull into the Lowe's parking lot in my Honda Civic and head right for the flowers, more specifically the Dahlias. My grandmother had named my mother Dahlia because they were the flowers my grandfather had given her on their first date. Just seeing them reminds me of her lying the hospital, we don’t keep them in the store anymore. Leaving these flowers I pick up anthuriums, narcissus, and Matthiolas. The only flower left on my list is Heathers as I was picking them up I look up and was entranced by the man before me. He had the most beautiful eyes like the wood of a dark oak framed by his rectangular, clear glasses. He had the complection of a mocha that could comfort you on your worst day. He had a bulky build, not quite muscular, but he could give you protection at night.
