I kissed my teeth, rolling my eyes super hard. This date was the worst I'd ever had in my life, so of course I wanted to forget everything about it. 

"Wait ! " I furrowed my eyebrows, "were you listening when I told y'all how the date went ? Why are you going out with him for ? Brett, you deserve way better than that asshole."

"Well, I have something to tell you actually. See...that date was actually a fake one."

My frown only deepened, "what are you talking about ? " I asked as I leaned on the counter.

"Well.. it was to show you how awful the dating life is and discourage you from getting with someone else. So.. you could get back with Richard." I kissed my teeth, not believing what I was hearing. "I know, I know, it was stupid. But, it sounded great in my head when I came up with this little plan." I shook my head, refraining myself from cussing her ass. "Brandon is actually a sweetheart, a real gentleman. He treats me with a lot of respect and makes me feel like a true queen. He has me so spoiled." I couldn't see her but I knew she surely had those dreamy eyes you have when you're falling for someone.

"Well, since he's making you talk like this, I guess he's alright. Stacy and I have to meet him for real one day though, to make sure he's not wasting your time." I said, my anger going away. She was my friend and tried to help me the best way she could. I knew she meant no harm.

We spoked a bit more, then hung up since she had to get ready for her date. She sounded so excited to go and I was glad she was enjoying herself.

"Thank you, and no problem. This conversation was more than overdue. I first want to apologize for the way I took all of my anger out on you those past years, you didn't deserve all of this."

"Oh no, it's okay. I can't blame you to be honest. Who would be okay to have the girl you ex-boyfriend cheated on you with around your family and friends ? I mean, in our case it wasn't true, but you didn't know that. I would've surely acted the same way or even worse honestly."

"What did you accept to do this though ? " I asked curiously as I crossed my hands on my lap.

"Well, at first, I really wanted to steal him from you, but let's be honest nobody had a chance to take Richard from you. He was and still is so in love with you. This is the type of love you don't often see. I had a huge crush on him, but as soon as I realized that I'll never get him, it stopped, but I kept acting as if I wanted him to get under your skin. I'm not going to lie, like a lot of other girls, I was jealous of what y'all had. I wanted to be this loved too. And like a lot of other girls, I unfortunately was going through a mean girl era."

She paused, so she could took some sips of her ice tea.

"One day, he came to me and asked if I could help him with a problem. Before I knew what it was about, I accepted to help because he looked so desperate."

"Then he told you what my father has been doing ? "

She nodded her head, "I was so shocked and couldn't believe that a father was capable of doing this to his own daughter. At first, and after hearing the story, I retracted myself, but then he offered to pay my college debts, so I said okay. I knew he was going to make it to the NFL, that boy convinced me." We chuckled, both playfully shaking our heads at the old Richard. This young man was speaking it into existence and it finally happened. You can call him a manifester.
