Tinashe and I shared a look before joining him in happily.

Not too long after, we finally arrived at the waterpark and RJ was very excited to try everything and eat all the food he laid eyes on. We stayed at the park all day, having fun and forgetting all about our problems, spending quality family time together also. At the end of the day, we were exhausted and ready to go to bed as soon as possible. Tinashe nicely offered to drive this time, so I could relax on the passenger seat.

We didn't talk much on our way back, enjoying the soft music that was playing in the background as a comfortable silence was reigning in the car. RJ was knocked out on his seat, snoring softly with his mouth slightly opened. I didn't know why, but all the time I couldn't help but think about how our lives would have been if her father didn't do what he did. We would surely be married by now and have more kids.

Maybe.

I was also wondering what was in store for our future. Were we meant to be together ? It wasn't a secret that we loved each other, but it wasn't enough to make a relationship work.

As long as we weren't sure on where exactly we stood, I was more than scared to lose her. I didn't know how I would react if one day Tinashe came to me and told me that she was in love with another man.

That shit would break me to the core.

[ One ‧ Week ‧ Later ]

I moved in my bed, half sleeping half awake, trying to find a good position to completely get back to sleep. After a minute of struggle, I finally set on laying on my back, then drifted back to sleep.

Not to my surprise, Tinashe was the subject of my dream. An alternative life where her father never got between us and let us be in love. A life that wasn't complicated and where everything was how it was supposed to be. A life that I was proud to call mine. It felt so good, it slowly began to not feel like a dream anymore. As if this imaginative alternative life was taking over and becoming my actual life. It was perfect.

But at one point it had to stop...

"Yo, what the hell ? " I asked, finally opening my eyes. It took a little moment for them to adjust to the light before I could further move and suddenly felt something. I soon realized that Tinashe was in the bed with me.

"Sorry, but you told me to wake you up for your workout today. Remember ? " She answered, sitting up. I suddenly remembered that we did get to bed together last night. It was still new, so I wasn't used to it, even though it wasn't our first time doing it. But it was a bit strange to share a bed with the ex that I was still madly in love with, but not in a serious relationship with. "You were moving a lot by the way, what were you dreaming about ? Was it a nightmare ?"

"Oh, nothing." I cleared my throat, "don't worry."

She narrowed her eyes at me, but said nothing, letting it go. No, we didn't have sex, we've just been sharing beds for the past few days. It just happened one day and since then we kept doing it.

Personally, I wasn't complaining.

"Why are you staring at me like that ? " She asked, a small smile creeping on her beautiful face. I was so lucky to be able to wake up next to this woman. Her beauty was making me wonder if she was something other than an actual human being. Nobody could be that beautiful.

Her curly hair, her natural face, her hypnotizing brown eyes, her delicious lips, her longs legs, I loved everything about this woman. She was wearing one of my t-shirts, and it looked way better on her.
