Chapter 7

I fell asleep slowly that night, I tossed and turned and tangled myself in knots. I lay silently and watched Levi sleep, his long unmanly eyelashes fluttering in his sleep.

He snored like a child, his face peaceful and calm. His lips parted and his breaths fell out of his mouth evenly.

I fell asleep to the serenity of his features.

I woke up with a soft voice cooing me out of my slumber, a voice like honey, smooth and sweet.

I woke up to Levi calling my name, he had Daisy next to him her hands on his legs as she clings onto him.

"Morning" I whisper, a smile makes it way onto the toddlers face.

She repeated my greeting in an innocent way that could shame the cutest puppies and send the rainbows to hell.

This girl was like sunshine. Her curls and big bug eyes that looked at you seeing only things that she wants to.

I propped myself up on my elbows and smiled at Daisy, she was an angel.

Levi had woken up before me and saw me in the vulnerability of sleep. I was afraid of being weak, people are cold, they take advantage of the weak. They'll throw you to the side once they get what they want and I like Levi, he's making an effort.

But, he's also quiet. He's the dangerous kind of quiet that makes you wonder whats running through his eyes and you're wondering what keeps him up at night, whats the cause of the shadows under his eyes and his nervous mannerisms.

"You're welcome to have a shower, some clothes are sitting in the cupboard for you, if you need anything Ryan is downstairs. I'm taking Daisy home"

I nodded.

I watched him pick Daisy up and carry her out of the room, I smile softly at her as she passes through the doorway.

Watching her leave was like watching the sun set. It was so odd to think Levi, a ruthless gang leader, could hold someone so delicate and precious and not break it.

I proceeded to have a shower, the water stung as it seeped into my cuts and I probed my bruises until I winced.

Ryan knocked on the bathroom to inform me if I used all the hot water a certain number of events would unfold.

It was enough to make me smile and get out of the steamy shower. I wrapped the towel around me and took a long hard stare in the mirror.

My eyes were sunken, they were always grey but only now were they the lonely grey you see on a stormy night, or in an aged widows hair.

My hair was wet, sticking to my pale skin. I remember the days of fussing over my body, my face like appearance was the only thing I'd ever known. Maybe it was, you can deny it but appearance plays a strong part in everybody's lives.

It scares me to think that in under a second, someone already has judged me as good or bad, there is no time for me to have another go, they've made their mind up.

I slide into the ill fitting clothes, they didn't help my appearance either. I made my way down stairs, Ryan was no where to be found.

"Cora"

Levi spoke my name, authority laced with annoyance in his tone. I was a dramatic teenager in his eyes, but he was no better.

"I'm sorry, I won't do it again" I mumble, I couldn't look into his eyes.

He scolded me like a mother and made me shuffle on my feet. "Mhm" He muffles, I look for something to do to break this ice but theres nothing. Nothing but white walls and Levi, judging me.

"You need to learn to be more submissive"

"Shut the fuck up"

"Cora! Stop acting like a brat and cooperate!" He insists, I cannot believe he has the audacity to say that to me.

"Levi, you asshole! You forced me out of my home at gunpoint, you've fucked me around all day and you have the courage to tell me to cooperate!"

All of a sudden, the space between Levi and I diminished. I was standing in the middle of his room and his hot lips were on my cold ones. We kissed, his lips were like alcohol, like an irresistible escape from reality.

The kiss lasted for about three seconds, but it was long enough. Levi pulled away, his left hand still on my cheek. He wiped the edge of my lip with his calloused thumb and let out an unmissable sigh.

He slammed the door closed on his way out, I jumped.

Levi was insane, he's fucking crazy.

I hear him slam his fist into something in the room opposite, without noticing it, my hand was on my lips, savouring his taste.

His smell was on me, his presence was still with me.

Maybe it was wrong, to put it simply, I just kissed my kidnapper. But I didn't regret it, love cures the deepest cuts. For the three seconds our bodies were compressed together, the throbbing in my hand ceased.

His kiss was something new, something euphoric.

I was still stood were we kissed when he walked back in.

"I'm so sorry" He says, the words that left his lips made me crave the moment we just spent together, I want it back.

"I'm not" I smile, I want my ecstasy. "You're a good kisser"

I wanted him to kiss me again and again, until the throbbing in my arm dies completely and my cuts are healed.

"Mm?" He bites his lip, I take a few steps towards him and once again reconnect the pure electricity of our lips. Nothing would ruin this.

He presses me against a wall aggressively and runs his hands through my hair, the feeling of adrenaline pumped loudly through my veins.

I was too caught up in the moment to notice a car door slamming in the back ground and the eerie sound of footsteps and so was Levi I guess.

Because none of us knew that Levi's Dad would walk in, while his son and I were making out in his meeting room against his wall.

"Levi! What the fuck is this?"

Levi was stunned, our lips parted, I sighed a little.

"Shit" I whisper, only loud enough for Levi to hear.

Before anyone can speak up, Mr Stanton's voice fills the room. "Cora, go to your room"

I felt like a spoilt child when I shook my head, I was not going to listen to this guy.

"Take her to her room" He says and then I'm being lifted into the air and over someones shoulder.

The ride to my room is bumpy and my head slammed against the door frame.

The man locked the door, but I could still hear the boys shouting, It was unmissable.
