Annabeth Zoë Jackson didn't know what was happening.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I was in an empty room that was really dark. Suddenly a glowing man appeared. No, I mean literally. He was glowing gold. He was on his knees and his hands were chained to the ground with a metal I was seeing for the first time in my life. His clothes were ragged, torn and cut and his body was littered with bruises and scars. His head was facing the floor and crying out in a voice so horrible, I didn't think anyone could even begin to understand the pain he was going through. He had black hair that looked like it used to naturally windswept but the owner had been running his hands through it in terror and stress.

The room was filled with tremendous power, I thought I might burst from his aura. Suddenly his head faced upwards and I gasped.

The first thing I saw was his eyes. They were glowing gold with no whites or pupils or anything! There were golden tears running down his face and his expression made me start crying. He looked like he was seeing a terrible vision and going through levels of pain so extreme, not even a primordial could begin to see the pain. He was sweating, panting and gasping while trying to scream out his silent torture.

He was DEFINITELY a God. But why was he chained? Aren't Gods supposed to be really powerful? I immediately remembered my earliest memory of my Dad.  There was a lot of light and I could remember a warm smile full of love that seemed to be made of golden light. No way.

There was no way this was true. It couldn't be true!

 "Dad?!" I yelled out.

Suddenly 3 shriveled old grandma bats appeared behind him. The oldest bat lady put her shriveled, sharp, gnarled and wrinkled claws on top of his head while the other 2 bat ladies placed a hand on either side of his face.

I heard him sigh in relief as though the pain had disappeared. His right eye stopped glowing gold and the whites and pupils appeared, the eye now a mixture of different shades of green and gold swirls. Which looked just like my eyes. I had his high cheekbones too.  I couldn't believe that this suffering man was my Dad. He looked like he was the only one who could see me, which might be true. As his eyes met mine, his face immediately changed from one of pain and torture to one of relief and happiness. "Beth...." He gasped, giving me the same lopsided troublemaker grin I was greeted with every time I looked in a mirror. He immediately doubled over, gasping in pain as his eyes started turning gold again. "Listen...Carefully...Please..." He rasped, his body trembling as though something was trying to get out of him. " We....can't... Hold me up.....for long...I....need.....my Annabeths..."

"Save....me....before...Daddy...Breaks...." He begged me and started crying out in pain once more as his eyes turned completely gold.

" Nooooooooo!!!" We screamed in agony together as I entered his head and felt a tiny portion of his pain. My eyes turned to gold as I too started crying out gold tears. I could hear his 2 sides war against each other inside his head.

 "Wisegirl...Love...Annabeth...Beth...Mom...Dad...Paul...Family... Chaos...Destroyed...Power...Evil...Friends...Enemies...Primordials...Fates...Pain...Madness..."

We screamed out in agony and despair once more and my eyes opened. My cheeks were wet and I held back my sobs as I shakily wiped my tears. Weird, they felt hard. I looked at it and gasped.

I had been crying golden tears, just like Dad.
