It didn't sound okay to Darcy. Not at all. "Why do you need my blood?"

"Darcy, we don't have time for this. Just relax, it won't hurt," he said tiredly, stepping forwards.

"No. I want you to tell me why."

"Darcy," he warned. "Just give me your arm and you'll soon be done and can go back and get some food."

"No."

He sighed again and walked towards the table, grabbing an injection. He then called to one of the other doctors in the room. The woman came over and walked over to Darcy.

She wanted to run. Hide. Escape. Anything. But she couldn't. Fighting wouldn't get her out of here. There were way too many guards. She had already tried running enough times to know it wouldn't work.

Dr Atho whispered something to the woman. Then she walked over to Darcy and pinned down her arms before Darcy could respond to what was happening. The last thing Darcy remembered was the feeling of a needle piercing her skin.

As she was unconscious, she dreamt. Like every night, the traumas came. Of course they did, she was only 13 (or at least, she guessed she was) and she had been through so much. Too much. This time, however, she dreamt of her best friend in the Square; Amelia. Except, it wasn't a happy dream. She dreamt of the moment when Amelia died. She had gotten killed by a Roller. Just as she was about to be swallowed in the Roller's blubber, Darcy's eyes shot open and she sat up.

She was panting and Dr Atho turned to see her. She then looked at her arm and saw a plaster. They had taken her blood whilst she was unconscious. She felt the anger bubbling inside of her. More than anything she wanted to just lash out. Flip some tables, punch the doctirs in the face, kick some doors down, but she couldn't. She had to contain herself.

"Hello, Darcy. I'm sorry about earlier, but you must learn that you need to co-operate with us. It's for your own benefit."

She didn't say anything, but continued staring at the plaster.

"Alright, then, how about we get you on that treadmill now?"

She wasn't in the mood to give back a sarcastic answer, so she just stood up and walked over to the treadmill. She noticed that the boys who had come in before were gone.

Dr Atho came over and hooked her up to the treadmill. He told her to adjust the speed as much as she wanted and to tell him when she couldn't run anymore.

After the doctors finally let her go, Darcy made her way back to the cafeteria. It was now lunch. She got a quick bite to eat, then went back to her room. She was feeling bored as she was the only one left in there, so she decided to do some tumbles on her bed. After the 6th one, she fell onto the floor.

Well that was smooth, Darcy.

She was lying on the floor, right beside her bed when she looked to the side. Under her bed she could see a vent. A pretty big one, too. She crawled under her bed and tried to pull it off, but it was to no avail. She tried for about twenty more minutes before she finally got it off.

Time for an adVENTure. I'm hilarious, she thought to herself.

She crawled through the vent and made her way through the many twists and turns. She didn't know where she was going, or what she was looking for, but she was happy to be breaking the rules. Doing something exciting for a change.
