Something woke me.
As I bolted awake I shook the sleeping Tyler, who in response tightened his grip around my waist and whined at the disturbance. I forcibly pulled away from him and sprinted downstairs to the origin of the noise.
When I got there, I saw that I wasn't the only one who had been disturbed. The whole pack was there.
I felt my beast stir. But a different kind of stir than that I was used to. I rushed outside and frantically scanned the area for them. It was pointless and that was a fact. The thoughts and feelings of the whole pack rushed into my head as my beast shook itself awake inside me. My father had told me of the sensation. The full awareness of the beast inside you and that of the entire pack. It was called the Alpha awakening. It only happened on one occasion..........at the moment the original Alpha takes his last breath.
My parents were dead.
