Ring
Ring
"Soph, could you get that?" Brian yells from his room.
"Alright, alright." I reply getting up from my book and reaching the ringing mobile. "Hello?"
"Come to the cafe downtown. Bring Brian too." I hear Alice say on the other end.
"Why?"
"Because we are all going to have a lovely Saturday afternoon. Rogers coming too so he could meet Brian."
I think about it for second that cover the receiver to cal for Brian.
"Bri! You wanna go.."
"No.."
"You didn't even let me finish."
"I have exams next week. I have to study."
I shrug. "Alright, suit yourself."
I lift my hand from the receiver to continue to talk to Alice.
"He's busy, but I can come on one condition."
     "Anything!" She pleads on the other line.
     "Buy me a pack of cigarettes." I demand.
     She sighs on the other end then agrees.
     "You'll die from those y'know." She comments.
     "At least I'll die a hero."
     The line pauses. "What do you mean?"
     "Remember that one time you slept with a guy and if it weren't for me you would have been preg..."
     "Hahahahaha ok ok. I'll see you soon bye!" She says nervously before ending the call.
     I know just what to say to shut her up. I smile as I set the phone back in its original place.
     I grab my coat and purse.
     "I'm going out!" I yell before opening the door and leaving.
     "Don't die!" He responds from his room.
     "Har har." I say sarcastically before shutting the door and hurrying down the flights of stairs.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
     I make my way into the cafe, looking around for Alice and Roger. I spot a familiar pair of blondes sitting towards the opposite side of the room.
     I head over to them trying hard not to bump into anybody. I reach their table making them look up from their conversation.
     "Sorry I'm late. Where are my cigs?" I demand holding my hand out for my small addiction.
     She lets out a long sigh as she pulls a small box from her purse. She places it in my hand with the same concerning look on her face. I smile in victory at my bribing skills as I take a seat in between Roger and Alice at the round table.
     Roger already has a cigarette lit and smokes away. Alice looks at us in disgust as I light a stick from the box.
     "You two are disgusting." She comments, picking up her menu to read.
     "Love, I told you. It calms me down." Roger justifies, taking another drag of his cigarette.
     "Me too. Brian hates it but that doesn't stop me either." I add while also taking a long drag from mine.
     "I don't care. The last thing I want is for the two most important people in my life to die from smoking a plant." She insists as she begins to cough from the cloud of smoke we've both created. "Cough...cough.. I need to go to the...cough...bathroom." She says as she excuses herself to the loo.
     "She's missing out." I comment before burning out my stick in the closest ash tray.
     "So, since we are going to see each other a lot, I'm guessing, let's get to know each other." Roger suggests, putting his out too.
     "Ask away."
     "Alright, what's your major?"
     "Criminal Justice, your dentistry right?" I ask motioning to him.
     "Yeah, what a coincidence. How long have you known Alice?"
     "Freshman year. So about a year."
     "Oh, uhhh any hobbies?"
     I look up at the to think. I don't really have any hobbies that I can think of on the top of my head.
     "I can predict personalities in people...sorta."
     His eyes grow large at my reply. "Alright, do to me right here right now." He challenges, propping his elbow on the table.
     I turn to face him and look at all his details. I already knew he was a smoker so I can't predict that. Wait, red marks on his hands. Something rubs against them.
     I then notice he's tapping his foot to the beat while his finger taps to the lyrics. He can multitask. I always know what he does for a hobby.
     "Drummer." I declare leaning back in my seat.
     "Sorry?"
     "Your a drummer. Red marks on your hands where your sticks go. Your also able to multitask with the best to this song playing right now. Now don't get exited I'm not done yet."
     He stares at me in astonishment but doesn't say anything. He continues in the same position he was in a is continue to examine him.
      I see a brown stain upon his left collar. It's got to be beer. So he's a drinker. Not surprising. I see the chain of necklaces hanging from his neck. Nothing peculiar about them except that one is a bit worn out. I'd say about 5 years old tops.
     He's a righty, he looks about 5'8, and weighs oh I don't know around 120. I notice a white spot of skin upon his left middle finger. He got out of a relationship recently.
     "Righty, 5'8, 120 pounds, lazy, forgetful, and you've recently been dumped. Am I wrong?"
     His jaw is dropped and his eyebrows are furrowed. He looks at me with astonishment as I bask in my glory.
     "Yeah, actually you are. Except I'm 122 pounds."
     "I was close, we can't all be right."
     "Yeah I suppose. How did you know about the forgetfulness." He questions leaning in closer in interest.
     "You haven't got a lighter in your pocket. Seeing that your jeans only have front pockets, and that you did have a lit cigarette when I came. You must have gotten a light from someone else because you forgot yours."
     "Woah. Thanks very impressive." I shrug in agreement as Alice makes her way back to her spot.
     "Roger what's wrong? You look like you've seen a ghost. Wait. Did she do the prediction thing on you?" She asks shaking her head towards me.
     "Yeah, she's really good at...noticing things." He replies still wide eyed from what I had just told him.
     "She's a show off is what she is." She says nudging my arm playfully.
     I shake my head in annoyance as a waiter comes with three cups of coffee.
     "Okay, Sophie. What did I just get 2 days ago?" She asks her tone a bit sarcastic and high.
     "Double piercing on your right ear." I respond. Her jaw drops as she lightly hits the table in anger.
     "How did you know?"
     "Before you asked the question, you covered you hair so it want showing your new piercing. I know you have a first hole so that can either dictate a second one or a cartilage. I went with the first option because I don't know why not." I reply while softly blowing on my steaming beverage.
     "You twat!"
     "Don't make it so obvious princess." I reply sending her devilish grin.
     "I can't stand her sometimes." She laughs, glancing towards Roger.
     "Your just upset because I guessed correctly." I acknowledge making her send me a playful glare.
     "I'm glad your my friend." She laughs.
     "Me too."
