The Battle of Hogwarts was in full swing. you were running, firing spells at the Death Eaters with your Triplet brothers, Fred and George, you were the middle child but still the Fraternal triplet among-st the identical twins. You and your brothers were running through the secret tunnels, trying to cut off enemy advance by destroying all but one of the tunnels, the one to Honeydukes, where the third years and below would go, which would be also be cut when everyone, and you were going to make sure that everyone meant EVERYONE, was safe before your eyes. You had turned to your brothers and shouted "GO!! I'LL TAKE CARE OF THE DEATH EATERS HERE, MAKE SURE EVERYONE WHO NEEDS TO GETS OUT OF HERE SAFELY!!!!!" Your brothers listened to you, and you had immediately wished they hadn't. There, above their heads, were cracks from a spell that one of the Death Eaters had shot. You immediately took out the Death Eater and looked to Fred, who didn't know about the cracks and about the roof about to collapse on him.
So you sprinted twords him, and tackled him to the side...
Just as the rubble fell, cutting off the tunnel.
You were buried beneath it all.
And that was when things got very white and quiet, the opposite from the dark and loud tunnel you were in just mere nanoseconds ago.
'''''''''''''''''''''''Fred POV'''''''''''''''''''''''
After Aaron had told us to get any laggers to safety and that he would hold off the DE's, we listened to him.
That was the biggest mistake we ever made.
Within seconds of George and I following his orders, we heard something crumble, I felt a brunt pain in my side, then a crash, I had thought I was hit with a spell but when I got a look I was a large pile of rubble, a lot of blood, and an arm sticking out of the pile, bent nearly beyond recognition.
If it weren't for me seeing the wand that belonged to my brother in the mangled hand, I never would've believed it.
He did the most Gryffindor thing anyone could do.
He sacrificed himself so I could live.
Before I even had time to gather myself I felt George grabbing my arm and pulling me along.
"WE NEED TO GO, NOW!!!!!" That was all I heard before my mind turned to autopilot and I went on saving the smaller ones of Hogwarts.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~TIME SKIP~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We did it, we managed to win this bloody, Godric forsaken war.
Now we count the dead and wounded.
From the shock had completely forgotten about the sacrifice, but now that things were over it hit me like a speeding train.
It was worse when we saw him laying on a stretcher, the rest of the family, Hermione, and Harry, by his side.
He was nearly unrecognizable.
Nearly.
His buzzed red locks that had once made it slightly easier to tell us all apart, were now caked in blood, rocks, dirt, and debris. The blue eyes that had once shone with mischief, love, and pure, unadulterated, familial admiration for us all, we now closed, as if in a state of sleep.
He looked so peaceful, like he was taking a nap in the bay windows of the common room after studying hard for his NEWTs.
He had always done better than us academically.
His heavily freckled face that was once tanned from all the days of playing quidditch with us during spare times was now a dull, paler version of our sun-kissed brother.
